There are usually two types of reasons people come into therapy. One is that find themselves making the same mistakes over and over again and they want to do something different, but are just not sure how. The other is that they have been carrying around a deep pain in their life that they want to resolve. Often these things are connected. This is why I work with you on two levels. I help you change the current unwanted behavior, while also helping you resolve issues from your past that may be effecting your reactions.

I help people to make needed changes to make their lives happier. Things like anger, depression and anxiety can threaten jobs, families, relationships, and self-esteem. I use cognitive behavioral methods, somatic awareness, EMDR, and schema awareness to help change reactions and understand and tolerate your inner world.

In addition to providing individual therapy and couples counseling, I run Anger Management groups for women. The groups are small and meet weekly for 12 weeks. Being able to share with other women in this contained way has proven to be very healing. You can find more at angermanagementsfbay.com

This twelve week group teaches women to find their strength by expressing their needs in a way that is more likely to be heard. You will learn to feel pride in the way you present in the world. This is a small group (maximum 5 women) to be held every Wednesday night. You will learn to stop behaviors that are destructive, tune into yourself for cues, and use new tools to make different choices. Doing this work in the presense of other women is very healing and many have said it is "life changing."

Anger Management for Women

I offer three levels of anger groups for women. Each level runs for 12 weeks and meets for 1 1/2 hours each session. They are small groups of 5-7 women who have decided that anger is unmanageable in their lives. It is an interactive skill training class, which means you learn new skills each week and and also have the opportunity to share personal stories and journals. Level one: stop the anger and gaining control. Level two: Non-Violent Communication and self compassion. Level 3: Schemas and how they effect your choices and responses.
