My approach to therapy is rooted in a person-centered framework, where I prioritize building trust and rapport with clients, empowering them to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. Drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques, I tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.

As a queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent practitioner I personally understand how nerve wracking it can be to start your therapeutic journey with an unknown provider. As a trauma informed therapist I am committed to having a client-centered and collaborative approach catered to your personal growth and healing. I am passionate about working with individuals walking through anxiety, depression, adjustment, PTSD, C-PTSD, as well as queer and gender identity issues. I work with both individuals and couples to meet client determined goals, and hope to create a productive and safe place to heal and grow.

As a trans masc, queer, and neurodivergent practitioner I understand first hand how difficult it can be to find the right therapist. My goal is always to create a safe and welcoming space for all. I will collaborate with you to navigate any obstacles or barriers you may be facing in life. My goal is to utilize a person-centered, intersectional, affirming, judgement free, and trauma-informed approach, and I hope to create a comfortable and safe environment for you to process, heal, and grow.

We all need a little help navigating our lives sometimes. Whether you are facing day-to-day struggles such as depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, life transitions, and relationship/intimacy issues, or grappling with deeper existential questions about worldview, identity, climate change, and the state of the world, I am here to provide support and resources.

Note: current availability is limited to daytime appointments - Welcome! I’m Lio, a therapist at the Mala Child & Family Institute. I’m dedicated to empowering teens and young adults as they navigate LGBTQ+ identity, disability, Autism (including PDA and high-masking profiles), ADHD, and anxiety. As a neurodivergent and queer adult, I know that these experiences are often misunderstood and encounter a range of barriers. I also understand the impact that a safe environment can have on the development of self-worth, self-advocacy, and self-compassion.
