I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults- all in different walks of life with a varying degree of diagnoses. I am here to be whatever is needed for you, at whichever pace or level that is. It’s hard to tell someone else your deepest secrets. The truth about your gender, your desires, your struggling relationship. A well of shame has pooled up inside, brought on by years of trying to squeeze yourself into the narrow definitions of sexuality forced on you by society. You’re left feeling alienated and unsure if you will ever find the kind of true connection that you crave. You know deep inside that sexuality is meant to be wonderful…but something is holding you back. Fear of rejection. Fear of judgement. Fear of not being enough. Fear of not knowing what to do. Fear of being alone.

It has been sometime now that things have not been feeling "right." Your relationship is not as fulfilling as you want it to be. Things feel off or disconnected. Maybe someone you love has died and it still hurts everyday just as it did the day you lost them. Maybe you have been holding onto something tragic; something you have never told anyone. Sometimes we are not really sure what it is that is troubling us, but we know we cannot keep living life feeling the way we do. We just want to feel better. We want to feel like our old selves again.

We are all doing the best we can with the tools we have been given. You are the expert of your own life but at some point we all get stuck and the tools that have gotten us to where we are stop working. I believe therapy is a place to explore and reflect on your journey thus far and learn how to move forward. Making big life choices, grieving a loss, navigating interpersonal conflict, facing the challenges of parenting, and coping with anxiety or depression are all easier with a guide by your side. ​There is no one-size fits all approach to therapy.

I believe that people are so close to their own life’s challenges and stressors that they often miss what is right in front of them. Therapy provides an opportunity to step back and regain perspective. I know that each individual is an expert in their own lives, and at the end of the day, only they know what is best for them. Through therapy, I create a supportive and nonjudgmental space for you to speak your truth and look at things in a different way. I will point out and empower you to use your strengths to your advantage. Finally, I will sprinkle in some humor, swear words, and quote The Office because laughter is important.

I am passionate about empowering and supporting individuals and couples as they grow and change. I recognize all of my clients as experts on their own lives and circumstances, and assist them as they learn to identify and leverage their strengths to move toward a healthier place. I have experience assisting with: anxiety, depression, issues that arise throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period, infertility and loss, parenting challenges, relationship conflict, navigating life changes, grief, attachment, personality disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, those that identify as non-binary, and transgender individuals.

I am a therapist because I consider it an honor to be allowed the opportunity to support someone in achieving their goals and creating the life they wish to live. My practice has typically focused on supporting individuals navigating the effects of trauma, the impact of gender-based violence (ex. sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking), anxiety, depression, grief/mourning, relationship challenges, and gender exploration. In session I primarily use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) which utilizes mindfulness , values exploration, personal introspection, & out of session action, in addition to other best practices.
