If you struggle to be in the present, to feel safe in your body, to stop overthinking.....if you feel trapped in the past, or feel there are no ways to move into the future... these are the difficult symptoms that often come with PTSD and traumatic experiences. As we partner in detangling the story and the pieces, there are many ways to find and reconnect with your true self, the self that has been buried by pain and protective defenses. Together, we will find a path that is restorative, connected and aligned with your whole being. You get to re-story and own your narrative, where trauma/pain is not the narrator.
We will check out various ways to engage the pieces of your story as they come up or what matters most to you. We will do something active with art therapy, body work (sensorimotor), EMDR, or eco-therapy because there is power in action and engaging the entire body. Memory is held in the body and the mind, so we will invite all the parts of you to speak.
I truly believe healing is possible and an option, however the path is unique to each person's history, values, needs. Many people come in with a question mark about hope. Part of my role is to hold onto hope for you until you can find it and carry it. You are worth the time and energy and space to dig into that question (and all the questions).
