Issues like anxiety, depression, and chronic “stuckness” are often rooted in the subconscious.
These are approaches that go beyond talking and work directly with the deeper layers of the mind. This work helps you: Release long-standing emotional patterns; feel more calm, clear, and in control; and reconnect with yourself in a grounded, lasting way.

I work with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma response/PTSD, relationship issues, grief and loss, and life transitions.
Congratulations on deciding to talk to someone! It's a hard step to take. We can start with a fifteen-minute video consultation, free of charge, and you can see whether therapy with me seems right for you. Therapy isn't an instant fix, but many people feel a little lighter even after a session or two. We can meet in my office or you can meet me from the privacy of your own home via telehealth.

I love working through challenging situations with people and I have found that most issues can be resolved over the course of a few weeks or months. My sessions are usually about 70 minutes because that's how long a complete and satisfying discussion takes. I don't intend to see you for nearly as long or as often as you think, and you might be surprised at the range of things I want to talk about. Your life is a lot more than your presenting complaint.

The life you built looks right, but it doesn't feel like yours anymore. You know the stories behind your patterns, yet the distance between you and the people you love keeps growing. More understanding won't close that gap. You need someone to help you stop navigating by old maps to clear the noise, trust yourself again, and build something that actually feels like home

Sometimes life events and experiences interfere with our ability to make sense of the world and find our place in it. We may lose our sense of safety and control and become flooded with overwhelming thoughts and emotions. Whether you’re feeling isolated, lonely, frustrated, fearful or confused, it is possible to emerge courageous and hopeful.

At times, we can feel closed off, disconnected, or overwhelmed by hurt and self-protection. This may show up as self-criticism, low self-confidence, anger, isolation, unhealthy relationship patterns, or a sense of feeling stuck. When these experiences persist, they can affect many areas of life and how we relate to ourselves and others. My role is to support you in reconnecting with your inner resources and developing the tools needed to heal past wounds, restore balance, and move forward with greater clarity and ease.

I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, persistent depression, grief and loss, and life transitions.
You are soul tired, tired of waking up every day with a sense of dread, a sense that something is wrong or that you aren’t doing something right. You’re tired of telling everyone your fine when you really feel like you’re on fire. You tell yourself that you aren’t the only one who has experienced loss and you should be grateful for what you have, but it’s hard. You’re tired of wanting to talk about how you feel but you’re still avoiding friends because you’re afraid they will ask. You're wondering if these feelings will ever change. Maybe there is also a part of you that believes change is possible- which is why you’re here.

Immediate Telehealth Openings! Many of the women I work with are used to being the strong one for everyone else, but inside they feel anxious, overwhelmed, or triggered by things they don’t fully understand. This is especially common for moms who are juggling everything while trying to hold it all together. If this sounds like you, you are not alone, and therapy can help.

Our minds shape every moment of our lives—and therapy offers a unique opportunity to engage with the mind in a healing, transformative way. But the mind isn't just thoughts and feelings; it's also our bodies, relationships, culture, work, memories, imagination, and vision for the future. Therapy can help us make sense of these many parts of ourselves, fostering integration and a more nourishing experience of life.

We will unravel issues that may be causing suffering or isolation; such as depression and anxiety, loss and grief, trauma, or substance abuse.
Freud said, "Therapy is a love cure." We will explore how perceived lack of interpersonal safety blocks the love we want. We will discover unacknowledged aspects of your being and delight in your "true" self. My short-term psychodynamic approach allows your core self to find peace & confidence.

Many of the struggles people bring to therapy—anxiety, depression, numbness, grief, or boundary issues—are not signs that something is wrong.
My work is relational, somatic, and experiential. We create embodied safety so your nervous system has the support it needs to explore the often-neglected depths where the Soul’s gold lies waiting. I integrate attachment theory, somatics, and experiential relational therapy. I also offer dream work and other non-ordinary ways of accessing what is TRUE.

Depression Therapists
What is the goal of therapy for depression?
Therapy for depression has several major goals. One is to relieve the mental pain of depression, which distorts feeling and thinking so that sufferers cannot see beyond their current state of mind or envision feeling better. Another is to give people the mental tools to recognize and correct the kinds of distorted thinking that turn a problem into a catastrophe and lead to despair. Therapy also teaches people how to process negative emotions in constructive ways, so they have more control over their own emotional reactivity. And it helps people regain the ability to see themselves positively, the motivation to do things, and the capacity for pleasure.

What happens in therapy for depression?
Perhaps most important, no matter the type of therapy, patients form an alliance with the therapist; that connection is therapeutic in itself, plus it becomes an instrument of change. Patients learn to identify and to challenge their own erroneous beliefs and thoughts that amplify the effects of negative experiences. They learn to identify situations in which they are especially vulnerable. And they learn new patterns of thinking and behaving. They may be given “homework” assignments in which they practice their developing skills. In addition, good therapists regularly monitor patients to assess whether and how much the condition is improving.

What therapy types help with depression?
Several types of short-term therapy have been found effective, each targeting one or more areas of dysfunction. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients challenge their negative thoughts and beliefs, learn new behavioral strategies, and curb reactivity to distressing situations. Behavioral activation (BA) is a form of therapy often used in conjunction with CBT; it focuses on engagement in rewarding activity as a pathway to changing negative feelings and disturbed mood. Another widely used approach is interpersonal therapy (IPT), which targets the social difficulties that both give rise to and get exacerbated by depression. Therapists may combine approaches as needed.

Can therapy for depression be done online?
Studies have found that online therapy can be highly effective for treating depression, although it may be more challenging to build a good therapist-patient alliance on screen than in person—at least at first. However, online therapy can offer considerable advantages. Accessibility and convenience are tops among them. Some people actually find it easier to talk about problems online than in person. While online therapy typically limits visibility of facial expression and body gestures that give important nonverbal cues to a patient’s state of mind, it can give therapists a glimpse into a patient’s world and life, providing information that can be highly useful in guiding therapy.

How effective is therapy for depression?
Many studies show that therapy is highly effective provided that patients complete the prescribed course of therapy, commonly 16 to 20 sessions. Over the long term, it is more effective than medication and the effects are more enduring. As a result, psychotherapy has the power not just to relieve current suffering but to prevent future episodes of the disorder. Therapy reverses the dysfunction in neural circuitry that disposes individuals to a negative view of themselves, the world, and their future and they acquire coping techniques, problem-solving skills, and understanding of their own vulnerabilities that are useful over the course of a lifetime.
