We cannot come to a place of lasting peace and wholeness in ourselves until we learn to meet & hold our inner experience in compassion &kindness. This is a Skill, that through practice can be learned, profoundly changing our day to day lives. Progressively moving us to greater ease, joy, happiness, inner acceptance. Unresolved Trauma causing shameful feelings of unworthiness, anxiety, depression, addictions, low self esteem etc, makes this acceptance harder to do. In my early work as a Trauma Therapist in the early 90's I thought if I just helped someone resolve their traumas they would become much more happy and whole.
