RTM is a clinical breakthrough in PTSD treatment, targeted to those individuals who experience intrusive symptoms of PTSD , including nightmares, flashbacks, and uncontrollable sympathetic responses to certain stimuli.
The most important aspect of my work - and its deepest expression - lies in listening. My job is to "hear" you - to listen for what is being said and what is not, for who and what are in the room, for who and what are absent. What part or parts of you have a voice? What part or parts have been silenced? This deep listening process will lead us to those specific therapeutic modalities most appropriate for your growth and well being - what will best serve you at this stage in your life's journey. I also remain aware of any previous or early wounding that may be preventing you from moving forward or living a more fulfilling life.

I help people recover from trauma . I know what it's like to wake up every day feeling disconnected and afraid. I know the depression, anxiety, and confusion that accompany surviving a traumatic experience. I know that it takes time to understand what you've been through; that it was real, it wasn't imagined, and that any damage done was not of your own making. I also know that healing is possible. It is possible for you to feel confident and safe in your own body. To trust yourself, and have faith in your choices. To know that you are not your past, you are already whole and complete, and YOU are the expert on your own life.

Despite our best efforts to live authentically, we can lose our way while navigating stress, transition, trauma , loss, or conflict – or even just trying to figure out who we are. Many of my clients are exploring gender, sexuality, spirituality, and the impact of past experiences on their current identities. They have had doubts about their worth, perseverance, ability to change outdated patterns or recover from past wounds. They questioned the possibility of connecting with others while caring for their own well-being. They struggled with perfectionism, people pleasing, disconnection, reactivity or a lack of reciprocity.

Many times in our lives we are driven by pain from past events. Much of my experience has been working alongside those who are faced with issues of anger, general and acute stress, PTSD , anxiety, and depression; both youth and adults. I have a deep understanding of the nuances of trauma , generational trauma and the disconnect it can cause. I believe therapy to be a journey where I assist you in reconnecting you with yourself and the world around you. I work with you collaboratively to help you make the changes you want to make in your life.

I have experience working with individuals, couples and groups living with: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, PTSD and Complex Trauma , and relational dynamics.
Many of us have lived through hard and painful life experiences. For some of us, the physical and emotional memory of those experiences keep us locked in a state of shame, anxiety, fear and loneliness (this experience is often labeled with a variety of diagnoses: PTSD , Complex PTSD , Anxiety, Depression, ADHD). It can seem impossible to create and sustain meaningful, fulfilling and nurturing relationships (including the one with yourself!) from an isolated and fearful place. If you are seeking to feel better and create healthy and sustainable changes in your life, this may be the work for you.

I have explored spirituality through meditation practices, sacred plants and nature, addictions through personal experiences and training, trauma through accidents and EMDR training, and practiced Ecopsychology because of a deep need to understand how humans might exist in healthier and more sustainable ways.
As an eclectic psychotherapist, I use many approaches, and have an ability to be deeply present with your experiences. I offer grounded, thoughtful, creative, playful, kind, and compassionate support. My desire is to assist you through challenges and help you find balance and healing. My mirror of reflection is through 15 years work in community mental health, with wide ranging mental health and addiction issues. I've experienced oneness, Christ Consciousness, transpersonal, and non-ordinary states, yet also my own drama and occasional trauma . I am here to help raise awareness, create options, and facilitate you finding your way.

You may feel lost, hopeless, helpless, or a combination of challenging emotions. I am here to tell you that you will not feel this way forever. Through an attachment-based, trauma -informed lens, I will assist you in addressing the root causes of your suffering. No band-aids here; I believe the only way to live free of trauma , negative self-talk, poor self-esteem, depression, anxiety, or addiction is to face the origin story head-on.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
