Additionally, I am a clinical supervisor in the state of New Mexico and can offer private supervision for therapists seeking their LPCC licensure.
Do you experience symptoms of emotional, relational, or physical pain? Anxiety, fear, hopelessness, and bodily discomfort can linger long after traumatic and destabilizing events. You can learn to navigate these symptoms, regulate them, and walk through the process of fear and immobility back to integrative functioning. My priority is to help you recognize, accept, heal, and integrate the difficulties you are experiencing and become aware of your inner strengths and guiding values through the process. You can find the strength and courage to engage again with life and the passion to not only survive but thrive.

I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and Supervisor.
Trauma lives on in our nervous system long after the traumatic experiences are over. Trauma is triggered, but we are often unaware that that is why we feel so bad. Trauma symptoms can congeal into various types of struggles including disorders of personality, mood, anxiety, eating, relationship, self loathing, and dissociation, among many other issues.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes not from failure, but from success. You've met every marker—and still sense that something essential is missing, or no longer fits who you're becoming. If you're facing a life transition, midlife or identity questions, anxiety, or a burnout that rest doesn't touch, this restlessness is not a flaw. Often it is intelligence—a signal that a deeper realignment is underway. I work with accomplished, successful-and-searching professionals at precisely these turning points.

Many of us have lived through hard and painful life experiences. For some of us, the physical and emotional memory of those experiences keep us locked in a state of shame, anxiety, fear and loneliness (this experience is often labeled with a variety of diagnoses: PTSD, Complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD). It can seem impossible to create and sustain meaningful, fulfilling and nurturing relationships (including the one with yourself!) from an isolated and fearful place. If you are seeking to feel better and create healthy and sustainable changes in your life, this may be the work for you.

Check in with your breath. Notice where it is, the space inside that it highlights, and attend to what you need. I work with all sorts of humans. Folks who are navigating motivation, inspiration, & creativity. Folks who are dissolving shame, conversing with their self-critic, and engaging in vulnerable relational work. We all continue to evolve and grow, thank goodness! You continue to evolve and grow! Working and living in Santa Fe offers opportunities to participate in small communities with multiple roles. It can be helpful to explore small community dynamics as they show up in professional choices, dating, and friendships.

Bob Dylan once claimed that “chaos is a friend of mine” while Albert Einstein posited that “energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.” I view trauma symptoms (depression, anxiety, etc.) as energies that descend upon people due to stress rather than originating from within. We can develop relationships with trauma symptoms to transform them into growth, security and happiness. The Japanese have a saying, "hendoku iyaku," which means changing poison into medicine. My approach with a client is to use the experience of suffering as a springboard to create the best, most meaningful life.

Many times in our lives we are driven by pain from past events. Much of our experience has been working alongside those who are faced with issues of anger, general and acute stress, PTSD, anxiety, and depression; both youth and adults. We have a deep understanding of the nuances of trauma, generational trauma and the disconnect it can cause. We work with you collaboratively to help you make the changes you want to make in your life.

I’m glad you found your way here. It’s a brave and vulnerable thing to begin therapy; and it’s one of the best things you can do for yourself and your relationship. The work I do relies on a kind of deep listening, trying to be with you from the inside out. I aim to hear and understand what’s on the surface but also what goes unsaid, what might be hard to put into words, and what might be scary to admit to yourself. I listen for what you know about your current struggles and for what might live outside your awareness. I listen to what you value and what you long for. I listen for your strengths and your growing edges.

Many of the people I work with are carrying a lot — family conflict, relationship strain, parenting stress, or feeling stuck. In Northern New Mexico, family and community run deep. Sometimes that strength also brings complexity. My clients often want life to feel steadier, relationships to feel clearer, and their day-to-day experience to better reflect their values.

Sometimes it is difficult when we find ourselves in situations and relationships, doing, thinking and feeling the same thing again and again. People come to therapy to develop increased self-awareness, to understand what is happening inside and get to the root of problems that interfere with accomplishing goals and developing a healthy, satisfying life. Therapy is a place where you can be heard and understood without judgement that supports you to change old patterns of behavior, thought and feelings, and to make different choices in life. Therapy is worth the time, and the investment because you are worth getting to know.
