I look at my work through an existential lens and I am inspired by Jungian Psychology.
If you work with me, you will be given a safe space to reflect and make meaning out of your past and present experiences and find hope for the future. My approach to therapy relies heavily on my warm presence and ability to empathize in a way that makes you feel seen and heard. I believe success in therapy starts with creating a strong foundation of trust. Through the process of building rapport and practicing the art of vulnerability, opportunities may arise for you to increase self-awareness and cultivate greater self-acceptance and self-love in order to make positive life changes.

I have a broad background in psychology, including training in the Jungian tradition.
I see clients who are entering psychotherapy for a wide variety of reasons, including dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, and complications from trauma. My first task in working with you will be to create a warm, safe environment where you can re-discover your most authentic self. In our sessions we will explore your hopes, goals, and dreams. We will also tend to the psychological wounds that have been causing so much pain. My orientation to psychotherapy is based on the simple understanding that the psyche, like the body, will heal itself if we create the right conditions for change to occur.

I have found approaches such as Jungian psychology, psychosynthesis, behavior modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, mindfulness and Internal Family Systems to be very useful.
After over 50 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in settings as diverse as prison and preschool, I have come to the conclusion that the root of most psychological suffering is a discrepancy between who we really are and who we have been expected to become or expect ourselves and others to be. This discrepancy between the "Self" and the personality we develop causes immense suffering within individuals, between individuals and in the culture as a whole. My goal is to help clients find their own truth or "Self" and live their lives from that place.

I have a passion for Jungian depth psychology, and I enjoy working with dreams and imagination to help bridge to the unknown.
I specialize in life transitions, anxiety, depression, addictions, and the exploration of purpose and meaning (using techniques of mindful awareness and somatic listening). Everything about us is okay, and it is through our most difficult challenges and deepest suffering that growth, healing and transformation ultimately occur. With this in mind, I try and help clients explore the messages in themselves and their life processes that will enable them to bear their difficulties and move forward.

My practice draws strongly on evidence-based, trauma-informed theories in neuroscience and attachment, and Jungian Analytic Psychology.
I provide a warm, down-to-earth, and focused therapeutic environment. Within a mindfulness-based, cognitive approach, I pace our work to help build greater resilience to meet those places where you feel anxious, confused, sad, angry, disappointed or hopeless. These places need attention, care and support. Together we can unravel difficult thoughts and feelings, generate warmth where there is pain and sorrow, find emotional relief, greater well being and a renewed vitality. I specialize in grief and loss, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, dissociation and relationship issues.

I am a Jungian Psychotherapist and Life Development Coach.
Life is an ongoing process of aligning with our true authentic self. Without that alignment life can feel barren and meaningless. We feel stuck and unable to realize our visions and dreams. Yet, the capacity of the human spirit for creative and intuitive development is truly unlimited. Most of us however, use only a small fraction of that capacity. Through self-reflection and personal exploration we can gain an understanding of what limits this capacity.

We may use CBT or DBT therapy; a Jungian perspective.
I believe in the desire and ability of each of us to grow and to become our best selves. More than ability, really - this is our propensity, our basic nature. I remember as a high school student learning about tropism, about how plants turn toward the sun. I was fascinated with that, and still am. But life intrudes. We're told we can't do that, we are not this way. There may have been trauma. We forget what our truth is. There are the challenges of any life: how to navigate love and loss, the big existential issues of loss and grief; the ultimate reality of death. The everyday losses, letting go of attachments; the need,

My therapy approach incorporates Quantum psychology, Gestalt psychology, Depth/ Jungian , Existential, Growth-Through-Trauma, and individually customized techniques.
Welcome to your own inner journey to transformative personal growth, empowerment and well-being! Our work together will encourage you to listen to and trust confidently in your own feelings, heart and intuition. I have found that emotions are our primary response to the world around us and contain all the information we need to learn to thrive. Focusing directly on the feelings underlying your issues rather than the thoughts will give you profound insight and clarity, and allow issues to resolve naturally and permanently. Learning to accept and trust in your own unique emotional/ intuitive perspective will bring you genuine self confidence, a renewed sense of direction in life, and dramatic spiritual/ psychological growth. My passion is to help you discover the natural healing magic within yourself!

Whether you are alone, in a relationship, or in a family system, I will help you to identify where these imbalances are happening for you and we will work together to establish harmony and restore health and wellbeing to your personal or family system.

Dreams and the unconscious hold symbols that assist in the healing process for depression, anxiety, and addictions. As a Jungian clinical counselor, I use these tools to help you establish a connection between consciousness and the higher Self. The Self then becomes a strong core from which we can operate in a healed and healthy manner. We are no longer driven by unconscious complexes and desires, but make conscious decisions that support life and its many expressions.

I hold the belief that all humans have the innate capacity to grow towards greater health and healing. I believe woundings arise to heal when the psyche is ready to embark on the journey. I use an integrative approach that is rooted in psychodynamic and jungian orientation. Jungian work can often hold space in welcoming the unconscious to integrate more with the conscious. It is a dance of integration for the whole self, welcoming in dreams, shadows, archetypes and the like. Psychodynamic work can often look and examine the root of behaviors and woundings, connecting the past with the present.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
