I am known to be empathic, insightful, caring and skilled, and have a broad range of training in relational, cognitive-behavioral, and mind-body approaches to therapy ( EMDR, AEDP, psychomotor and hypnosis) that I draw upon as needed to support you in your healing process.
Psychotherapy that is tailored to your needs can help you open the door to many new possibilities. In this process we work together to help you get in touch with what you really want for yourself, gain insight into whatever has been getting in the way of reaching those goals, and rediscover the power that you have within you to move toward a life that is more personally and professionally rewarding. The process is respectful of who you are, mindful of your potential, and responsive to what you really need for personal growth at this time.

As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach, often utilizing EMDR to support clients who are dealing with painful memories and the impact that these memories have on mood, behavior, physiology, and self-concept.
I work collaboratively with my clients to help them construct a meaningful life. This means supporting clients to make meaning of even the more painful aspects of their experience. Perhaps you are dealing with a difficult life transition, struggling with memories from a painful childhood, grieving the death of a loved one, engaging in self-destructive behaviors, or are attempting to navigate the complex world of relationships. I will work with you to address issues from the perspective that although life is often painful, people have the ability to make healthy choices and to live lives of integrity, depth, and beauty.

To treat stress-related disorders I use EMDR 2
Two types of clients like me best:
First- those with debilitating anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or specific phobias; suffering from fear, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts/memories, avoidance and shame. For clients wanting demanding, but short-term resolution, I offer intensive treatment, meeting up to 2-3 times weekly, resolving symptoms in under a month. Second- clients wanting general support, guidance, or mentorship with shame, depression, purposelessness, emotional regulation, and communication. I use a combination of cognitive, somatic, and compassion-based interventions, sprinkling in IFS techniques for good measure!

I am an EMDR trained therapist utilizing an integrative and trauma-informed approach, weaving together a diverse array of therapeutic modalities including Parts Work Therapy, which focuses on addressing the various "parts" or aspects of an individual's personality and psyche; DBT and CBT.
Trauma, especially complex trauma, shapes how we think, feel, and relate to others. It creates struggles, obstacles and disruptive thought patterns. Therapy helps untangle the roots of trauma. As we move toward healing and integration we get closer to our true essence. This process can feel uncomfortable at times but it also opens the door to curiosity, growth, and choice.
Over time, we can begin to embrace the whole of our experiences, deepen our self-awareness and cultivate the skills to create the life we envision.

Through experiential and attachment-based therapies including EMDR, I help LGBTQ+ community, youth (15+) and adults navigate challenges, connect with resources, craft fulfilling relationships, release what isn’t working, build rituals for recovery, and restore clarity and joy.
Despite our best efforts to live authentically, we can lose our way while navigating stress, transition, trauma, loss, or conflict – or even just trying to figure out who we are. Many of my clients are exploring gender, sexuality, spirituality, and the impact of past experiences on their current identities. They have had doubts about their worth, perseverance, ability to change outdated patterns or recover from past wounds. They questioned the possibility of connecting with others while caring for their own well-being. They struggled with perfectionism, people pleasing, disconnection, reactivity or a lack of reciprocity.

I am a somatic psychotherapist trained in EMDR, DNMS, Hypnotherapy and Sedona Method Releasing.
I am passionate about working with people who are ready to be free of the false beliefs about who they are and to connect with the love and wisdom and light that lives within. As we learn to break the identification with what we are not, we access freedom. As part of this journey, I believe humor is critically important. Taking ourselves and life a little less seriously supports letting go. My first published book, Stress Free in 30 Seconds is subtitled "A Slightly Irreverent Approach to Navigating Life's Challenges" and that, I believe, is what it's all about.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
