There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes not from failure, but from success. You've met every marker—and still sense that something essential is missing, or no longer fits who you're becoming. If you're facing a life transition, midlife or identity questions, anxiety, or a burnout that rest doesn't touch, this restlessness is not a flaw. Often it is intelligence—a signal that a deeper realignment is underway. I work with accomplished, successful-and-searching professionals at precisely these turning points.

I do not not practice a one-size-fits-all type of therapy (this true for life coaching too). I am trained in Cognitive Based Therapies- Cognitive Behavioral, Cognitive Processing (primarily for trauma), Acceptance and Commitment, and Written Exposure Therapy (WET-what an acronym, right? WET! It's a great modality,..I promise! I am compassionate, direct, and whole-health oriented (basically whatever I am dishing out, I am taking my own medicine). Let's get on to specialities....

Do you see your life as a journey? If you are like me, coming from one culture and living in another, then you know something about cultural journeys. However, there are also cultural journeys that are invisible. If you are a stranger in your own culture—someone who is outside looking-in or inside looking-out— you will know the distances that you travel, just being yourself and still being with others. We are all a culture-of-one, but some of us are a little farther out than that, and we juggle the values. How can you make your position in life meaningful?

Many of the people I work with are carrying a lot — family conflict, relationship strain, parenting stress, or feeling stuck. In Northern New Mexico, family and community run deep. Sometimes that strength also brings complexity. My clients often want life to feel steadier, relationships to feel clearer, and their day-to-day experience to better reflect their values.

Life can pull us in many directions—away from our bodies, our purpose, our relationships, and the deeper knowing that lives quietly within us. My approach to therapy supports you in returning to yourself: gathering the parts that may have been scattered by trauma, stress, or survival, and gently weaving them back into a felt sense of wholeness. You are not alone in experiencing times when you need extra support - ideally from someone who makes you feel safe, accepted, understood, and warmly cared about, as well as someone skilled in their craft. My clients experience me in this way. I am passionate about working with people who are dealing with a wide range of issues, including relationship difficulties, grief and loss, major transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction, co-dependence, and trauma. Research shows that no one therapeutic approach is more effective than another – rather, the relationship between client and therapist has the greatest impact on healing.

How do I know if I need career counseling?
Determining whether a career counselor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counseling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counselor.

Who can benefit from career counseling?
Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counseling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counseling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counselor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counseling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counseling typically last?
The length of career counseling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking. Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counseling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counselor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counseling?
Clients can prepare for career counseling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counselor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counselor, particularly if the career counselor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counseling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
