I am passionate about the children and families of New Mexico. Parenting can be very challenging and sometimes as parents we need extra support to gain communication, parenting and self-regulation skills. I have experience working with children and families suffering from depression, anxiety, family conflicts, ADHD , and behavioral problems. Also, being a Native New Mexican, I incorporate a cultural awareness and sensitivity in my practice. I recognize and appreciate New Mexican culture as unique and valued along with having it's own struggles and obstacles.

I am a prescribing psychologist providing medication management and diagnostic assistance to adults in Santa Fe. I treat a wide variety of disorders, ranging from ADHD , to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, to psychotic disorders. When prescribing, I combine my expertise as a mental health diagnostician and psychologist with my extensive understanding of psychiatric medications and how they work. I am a "depth prescriber," and in some ways may approach treatment from a paradoxical position. I treat psychiatric symptoms to remission with medications, using the best of what the medical model has to offer in the process.

You are not alone in experiencing times when you need extra support - ideally from someone who makes you feel safe, accepted, understood, and warmly cared about, as well as someone skilled in their craft. My clients experience me in this way. I am passionate about working with people who are dealing with a wide range of issues, including relationship difficulties, grief and loss, major transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction, co-dependence, and trauma. Research shows that no one therapeutic approach is more effective than another – rather, the relationship between client and therapist has the greatest impact on healing.

Cultivating joy, self-worth and safety is an inherent right for all people. Navigating our life’s journey can present us with challenges. By strengthening our own agency, internal and external resources it can allow us to create a life that is thriving. My work with you is rooted in neuroscience and play. I work from a feminist, trauma informed approach. Incorporating experiential modalities to work with the body on a somatic level. The body is what holds on to the trauma/past experiences. Together we can explore your own body’s wisdom allowing for a deeper connection with self.

You are enough. At times we don’t feel that we are good enough, smart enough, lovable, because of situations we have been through or challenges we have. My passion is connecting with people and helping them to connect with themselves and others. I believe those connections are healing and help us to be our best selves. We all deserve the freedom to be ourselves and to have nonjudgmental support.

Therapy doesn't have to be a drag! It can be an amazing, liberating experience. Whatever's troubling you, you can find the peace, power, and answers you seek. A strong therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in healing. With genuine appreciation for you, a strong, grounded presence, an open heart, and humor, I will be your ally. Humans are relational by nature, and the health of our relationships impacts our well being. Our relationships to Nature, our community, our beloveds, and ourselves reflect our honest, sometimes hidden beliefs, and those beliefs are powerful tools for transformation. Nature is a proven partner

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a Santa Fe ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in Santa Fe.
