The uncertainty of healing from within can be challenging due to feeling stuck triggered by fear and loss of control. Struggling with the stressors of life often leads to anxiety, depression, grief, and addiction. With compassion and empathy, vulnerability can be empowering when you feel safe and secure enough to regulate negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Collaborating together to prioritize your genuine mental and emotional needs is the main approach in which to foster personal growth.

Hello! My approach is to treat clients with respect, acceptance, non-judgement, and empathy (Person Centered theory) viewing clients as their unique selves, learning about them and what will work best for their healing. I also incorporate an integrated approach, meaning I will use interventions from other therapeutic models. I have been a licensed mental health counselor for just over a decade (went back to college later in life). Since 2020, I've worked as a telehealth mental health counselor; finding it to be incredibly beneficial tool for therapy. I do my best to have counseling be a healing and learning experience for you.

Are you high-functioning on the outside but feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or exhausted on the inside? Are you navigating grief, stress, identity challenges, anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, self-esteem doubts, or major life transitions while trying to hold everything together? Many of my clients are professionals, students, therapists, or deep feelers who are seeking more than symptom relief; they want to reconnect with their authentic self, build self-trust, and step into their true potential with greater clarity, confidence, and balance.

Summer often brings a natural pause: a chance to reset, reflect, and make space for support. Therapy can offer a steady, collaborative place to better understand what you’re carrying and begin moving toward meaningful change. I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, identity questions, and patterns that feel difficult to shift. My style is warm, thoughtful, and grounded. Together, we’ll explore what’s been feeling stuck, build insight, and identify practical ways to support you. I am actively completing advanced training in sex therapy and offer support to individuals and couples.

Someone who is ready for change, even if they don’t yet believe they’re capable of it. They may arrive in services feeling defeated, stuck, or overwhelmed. Many have faced significant trauma or instability: long-term substance use, incarceration, homelessness, family dysfunction, or mental health crises. They may be dealing with co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addiction. I often work with individuals who are navigating legal systems, child custody concerns, housing insecurity, or who have cycled through treatment before but never felt truly understood or supported.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
