I enjoy working with clients that want to work on things. I am very honest yet compassionate and caring. I like to help clients look at their puzzle pieces and figure them out. I am not the expert in your life, you are. I am here to help you figure things out. I have worked with trauma, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and family issues. I enjoy working with teens, individuals, couples and families. I work from a family systems perspective so I believe working on the family is important. I use the modality that best suits the client which may include inner child work, mindfulness, processing trauma, and relapse prevention.

As a therapist my driving passions are to help people overcome trauma, de-stigmatize mental health, and advocate for counseling, not just as a means of addressing mental illness but as a tool for self-exploration, healing, and growth. I know that therapy, or any commitment to change for that matter, can be scary and uncomfortable at times but I provide a calming space and an empathetic and unconditionally caring partner in your journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I truly believe that counseling can be a means to a better, more satisfying and comfortable life for everyone.

I believe that you already have the inner wisdom to know what you value and want in your life. In therapy, I will help you compassionately examine and understand patterns you have developed that no longer serve you. We can work together to curate a path forward in the direction of your personal values, strengths, and dreams. My approach involves first developing a contextual understanding of your life experiences, your values/dreams, and barriers you have encountered to feeling self-fulfillment. We will explore goals for therapy and I can provide my thoughts on how we might proceed. We can then co-create a therapy plan.

You are overwhelmed. It's hard to remember when you felt pleasure on a regular basis. You don't know where to start. The strategies that used to work don't any longer. You might have friends, but this feels like too much of a burden for friends. And Maybe there is shame or anger? You are out looking for yourself, actually-and this is great, honorable work (although it can feel excruciating). I will help you find that starting place. I will be the the witness. I will share my opinions, but it will be your life and wants that guide the process.

You may be the one everyone turns to—the helper, the encourager, the one who shows up. Maybe you’re carrying quiet anxiety, emotional burnout, or a loneliness that’s hard to explain. Whether you’re a young adult working through disappointment, relational challenges, or life transitions—or a woman serving in ministry, caregiving, or leadership— you deserve support too. I specialize in working with couples, women and young adults who feel unseen, overwhelmed, or stuck in silent struggles. Many of my clients come from faith backgrounds and faithfully pour into others, without having a space to process their own emotional needs.

Life is hard and many times we aren’t taught how to navigate this human experience, often feeling lost and with limited direction. This is exacerbated by experiences in which we are invalidated, dehumanized, and abused. As a result, we may experience persistent emotional pain, isolation, shame, fear, and emptiness. My approach is led by my belief in human dignity and the well-being and rights of people who have been historically oppressed.

I'm an LCSW therapist with over 10 years of experience holding space for those who walk between emotional, cultural, and family borders. My approach is warm, direct, and deeply human. I don’t offer magic formulas—but I do offer a safe space where you stop losing yourself in others and start finding your way back to you. Here, we don’t heal to fit in—we heal to break free.

Personal growth and transformation is a sacred journey. It’s choosing to go beyond our current level of “knowing” to rework and make space for an expanded awareness. An awareness that enables peace, joy, and a deeper anchoring in the beauty of who we really are.

The human experience is filled with difficult, unexpected, and unexplainable experiences that can sometimes leave an imprint that hangs out in our “blind spot” or subconscious as we go forward in life.

By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can be made more manageable, productive, and fulfilling. Feelings such as grief, shame, anxiety, sadness, and anger often signal that something needs to change. Listening to and working with these feelings—some that consume us and others that gently nudge us—can move us forward. Through this, we sometimes discover that our everyday dilemmas are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole.

It’s my mission to create a space where you feel safe to be authentically you. I believe it’s important to not only explore our own unique stories but to also look at the systems and structures in our society which contribute to our individual and collective pain. Why? Because your mental health journey isn't just about you; it's also about creating change in a world that desperately needs more understanding and empathy.

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
