Life can be so hard! What makes it even harder is when we find ourselves with no one to turn to during tough times. Therapy can be a safe place to find support and encouragement during challenging times. I deeply enjoy my role of walking alongside clients, being an encouragement and helping them explore new tools to cope more effectively with all of life’s many mountains and valleys. Through therapy sessions I can help you in finding a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, your past and how all of these experiences impact your quality of life and behavior today.

Hello and welcome! I am a therapist and fellow human based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and am currently accepting new clients in April 2026. My goal is to be with and support my clients as they grapple with challenges such as trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, neurodivergence, and depression. My clients work hard for the lives that they have, have gone through some very difficult experiences, and are searching for meaning in the midst of everything. A central question I bring into therapy is, "What makes up a meaningful life, and how do I find that meaning?” I use a trauma informed and emotion focused approach.

Perhaps you’re at a point where you are frustrated and tired of starting over with a new therapist. You’re tired of telling your story over and over again and not experiencing any relief. You’re tired of taking all these medications and being numb. And you’re tired of your past trauma disrupting your everyday life. Perhaps you’re wondering if you’re ever going to heal and feel better. You CAN heal. The therapist’s job is to help facilitate the healing process that lies within you. To heal from trauma, you don’t have to talk about the details of what has happened to you (unless you find it helpful).

I'm not going to bullshit you - real therapy is hard work. If you're looking for someone to nod along and tell you everything's fine, I'm not your guy. But if you're ready to do the real work - honest, uncomfortable, and necessary - then let's talk. I work with veterans, first responders, and driven professionals who've spent their lives serving others and are finally ready to figure out what comes next. Men who are done managing and ready to build. My approach is direct, grounded, and accountable. I'll challenge you. I'll call it like I see it. But I'll do it with respect, because I know what it took for you to get here.

You're here because something needs to change, and that takes courage. I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, and life's major transitions. This is built on a simple truth: you already have the answers inside you; sometimes you just need help accessing them. I don't believe in focusing solely on the past or offering surface-level advice. Instead, we'll acknowledge what happened, understand how it shaped you, then focus our energy on building the life you actually want. This is your journey, I'm just here to walk alongside you, challenge you when needed, and remind you of your own power.

My approach is to treat clients with respect, acceptance, non-judgement, and empathy (Person Centered theory) viewing clients as their unique selves, learning about them and what will work best for their healing. I also incorporate an integrated approach, meaning I will use interventions from other therapeutic models. I have been a licensed mental health counselor for just over a decade (went back to college later in life). Since 2020, I've worked as a telehealth mental health counselor; finding it to be incredibly beneficial tool for therapy. I do my best to have counseling be a healing and learning experience for you.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
