You've experienced something terrible in your life, and you cannot stop thinking about it. You can't sleep, and barely function throughout the day. Or maybe you function, but you're unhappy, stressed and anxious. Maybe you cover the pain with drugs, sex or alcohol. Trauma affects everyone- and everyone reacts in their own way. You want to be able to look forward to your day, your life and your relationships. If you've been through sexual trauma, infidelity, relational issues or have low self esteem, EMDR can help.

I'm here to support you with issues like therapy for therapists, exploring ethnic and racial identity, and enhancing sports performance.
Healing begins when you feel heard. As your therapist, I will support you in gaining insight, releasing what no longer serves you, and exploring your story in a safe environment. My goal is to help you embrace your authenticity and reclaim your power. This journey can feel isolating, and I aim to help you reconnect with what feels true to you. I identify as a free-spirited individual, bringing these qualities into our therapeutic space. I value empathy, collaboration, and honesty as we build the skills and confidence to face life’s challenges.

Are you someone who feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck and is trying their best to overcome these feelings? My own journey as a collegiate track athlete taught me the importance of having a place to feel safe and be met with unconditional positive regard. I try my best to help those that may be navigating anxiety, performance anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, or feeling uncertain about who they are or where they’re headed in life. I help clients navigate how to enjoy everyday moments again, feel more in control of their emotions, and understand themselves with greater compassion to become the best version of themselves.

I am an especially good fit for outdoor athletes and guides, people with a strong connection to nature, and people who have experienced trauma related to climbing or other outdoor sports.
I am a Down-to-Earth therapist who can help you reconnect with your own true nature, and the great outdoors. With the help of Mindfulness-based somatic practices, we can move from the distress of mental difficulties into relationship with the ground of our experience, and what better place to do that than on the literal ground offered by the forested trails of the Land of Enchantment.

How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
