I have explored spirituality through meditation practices, sacred plants and nature, addictions through personal experiences and training, trauma through accidents and EMDR training, and practiced Ecopsychology because of a deep need to understand how humans might exist in healthier and more sustainable ways.
As an eclectic psychotherapist, I use many approaches, and have an ability to be deeply present with your experiences. I offer grounded, thoughtful, creative, playful, kind, and compassionate support. My desire is to assist you through challenges and help you find balance and healing. My mirror of reflection is through 15 years work in community mental health, with wide ranging mental health and addiction issues. I've experienced oneness, Christ Consciousness, transpersonal, and non-ordinary states, yet also my own drama and occasional trauma. I am here to help raise awareness, create options, and facilitate you finding your way.

Life transitions, spirituality and career change are also issues that I work with.
I work with individual adults, both men and women. Clients looking for new discoveries about themselves and seeking tools for change are a sampling of client needs that I work with. Clients will achieve greater clarity, as well as self- acceptance in our work together. I believe that we all have our own "inner healer," and I help individuals find this voice of truth inside themselves. Learning to trust this voice empowers clients to make decisions and choices that are right and true for them. Learning to release old behaviors that no longer serve creates healthy self-worth. I am happy to work by telehealth; location is not an issue.

Despite our best efforts to live authentically, we can lose our way while navigating stress, transition, trauma, loss, or conflict – or even just trying to figure out who we are. Many of my clients are exploring gender, sexuality, spirituality , and the impact of past experiences on their current identities. They have had doubts about their worth, perseverance, ability to change outdated patterns or recover from past wounds. They questioned the possibility of connecting with others while caring for their own well-being. They struggled with perfectionism, people pleasing, disconnection, reactivity or a lack of reciprocity.

Have you ever felt like traditional talk therapy didn't work for you? You may have been frustrated with a lack of results. You may have felt like you've tried everything and are at the end of your rope. Or, maybe talk therapy has been successful for you, but you want a unique approach. As a licensed therapist, I can help by combining traditional talk therapy, with the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine. The method that I have found to be most beneficial, both personally and professionally, is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping.

Is it time for you to feel free from stress and anxiety? Is it time to make changes to old patterns that no longer serve you? Hypnosis is a transformational processes where the therapist and participant work collaboratively to achieve goals. The therapist helps the participant tap into inner resources and strengths in reducing anxiety, dealing with grief and loss, reducing chronic pain, and increasing confidence . The expectancy of the outcome is important and both parties work together to help reach desired results. Danelle will record hypnosis processes for the participant to listen to and practice on their own.

A warm hello to you! I specialize in relationships, and not just romantic relationships. Everything we do in life is relational, when you think about it. When we are with our partners, ourselves, our families, spirits, nature—everything we contact is a form of relating (sometimes consciously, sometimes subconsciously). Our relating choices are typically informed by our families of origin, life experiences, trauma, soul wisdom, education, culture, and much more. I offer an opportunity to deeply explore your unique relating. We are fellow travelers on Earth, each on a remarkable journey of mind, body, and spirit.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
