I often use Somatic-based Therapy in my practice.
You keep holding it together for everyone else, but inside you feel like you’re really struggling. If this speaks to you, I strive to create a space that is affirming, inclusive, and rooted in empathy. I value mindfulness, grounding practices, and client empowerment as tools for finding a restorative center. My goal is to support clients in building resilience, deepening self-awareness, and reconnecting with their sense of identity and belonging.

I’m a relational, trauma-informed therapist who works primarily with young adults navigating attachment wounds, anxiety, and the lasting impact of complicated relationships with their mothers. Many of my clients are insightful and capable, yet feel chronically dysregulated, self-critical, or unsure of themselves in relationships. I’m easy to talk to, present, and direct in a caring way. Therapy with me is not an interrogation — I won’t respond to your questions with more questions or rush you toward solutions. I believe healing happens in a shame-free, attuned relationship where your nervous system feels safe enough to soften.

Therapy with me blends narrative therapy, parts work, somatic practices, DBT-informed skills, and play-based and sand tray approaches.
Life can be confusing, overwhelming, and really hard. Maybe your child or teen is struggling with big emotions, anxiety, or challenges at school or home. Maybe you or your family are caught in patterns shaped by past trauma, or trust and boundaries feel difficult. Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. Therapy can be a place to do just that and to gently work on breaking old cycles, making sense of emotions, and building self-compassion, stronger identity, and more connection in your life and family.

Psychotherapy is a partnership with the goal of exploring who you are, what you want, and what is getting in your way. But how does it work? First, engaging in psychotherapy gives you the rare opportunity for another human being to focus entirely on you which can be healing in itself. And if that person is specifically trained to know what questions to ask and when to challenge and confront and when to support and encourage, then the possibilities for growth are endless.

I believe that physical health and mental health are interrelated, and often incorporate mindfulness and somatic modalities as well.
It takes courage to seek support. I welcome anyone looking for a collaborative therapeutic relationship where your strengths and values are honored. Most of my work is with adolescents and adults who are feeling stuck in patterns that don't serve them. Using a trauma-informed relational approach, I empower clients to overcome limiting beliefs about themselves. The best predictor of success in therapy is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, so I encourage you to reach out and see if the vibe is right.

Frustrated at not knowing what is going on, feeling like you are going crazy, and having those around you not understand your struggles. There are always those who say, "Put the past behind you and move on; smile and think positive thoughts and you will feel better." Unfortunately, these people only add to the frustration of an already hard situation. At times you may wonder if things will ever get better and if you will ever gain any control over your life. You also need a therapist who understands that your time is precious and you need practical ways of dealing with the day to day problems mental health issues create.

Bienvenidos! I'm happy you are here. The idea of going to therapy can be scary and intimidating, but the fact that you are looking for help is proof that you have more inner strength and courage than you know. Creating a balance between mental health and wellness is vital in living a meaningful life. Maybe you have done a lot of self-help, gym, yoga, and workshop stuff. This is great, but sometimes we all need extra and professional support to get ourselves through challenging and tough times.

My work is influenced by Gestalt, Somatic Experiencing, AEDP, Attachment research, parts work, and cognitive-behavioral theory.
My role as a therapist is that of a fellow-human that joins you on this chapter of your journey. Think of us together on a walk. On our walk, we encounter the natural elements that both slow us down with fatigue and overwhelm, and also motivate us with inspiration and delight. What makes this journey bearable, do-able, and sometimes even fun is that we are together. You are not alone. The safety I intend to cultivate for you provides the atmosphere for inquiry, exploration, curiosity, and growth.

My approach integrates DBT, parts work, somatic therapy, and EMDR.
Are you exhausted from managing your emotions all day? Planning around triggers. Replaying conversations. Feeling overstimulated, reactive, or completely shut down. You may hold it together in some areas and unravel in others. Maybe you understand your patterns logically, but in the moment a part of you takes over and responds before you can think. You want to respond differently in the moment so your relationships and life feel more secure rather than chaotic.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
