Immediate Openings! At Sandia Therapy and Wellness Center, we ensure that those in our community can access care where and when they need it. We provide outpatient mental health treatment to numerous people, of all backgrounds and cultures. We open our doors to every Albuquerque metro area resident, and, in some cases, those in neighboring communities–serving individuals and families facing adverse life circumstances or struggling with mental health issues.

My focus is on supporting the healing and growth of children. Children are a vulnerable population and do not always have the means to succeed. Clients may come in with anxiety, depression, issues regulating emotions, emotional outbursts. These issues can occur in all environments and impact a child's functioning. Childhood trauma can have a negative impact on development and the ultimate success of a child's future. Not all trauma leaves physical effects but can also leave emotional effects. Children can be left with challenges building relationships, understanding themselves, regulating and functioning overall.

We specialize in trauma for all ages. Toddlers to the elderly can be seen at our clinic. Our clinicians are trained in play therapy, EMDR, Infant Mental Health, Theraplay, COS, DBT, CBT and many other modalities.

My PhD in Clinical Psychology has given me the knowledge and sensitivity that psychotherapy is a very personal experience. Together we gain the trust to peel the layers of the "false self" away from the true, authentic self. Each person is different, therefore each person's healing has to be treated individually. Human suffering can be healed and I treat trauma from early childhood to the present, treating unhealthy early attachment issues we may use now in relationships. Together we will examine patterns which the patient finds distressing and long standing. I do not give advise, rather I help the patient find the advise within.

I treat adults, children, and families. I work with a broad array of clients from children (ages 6 and older) who display characteristics of Attachment Disorders to those in their teens who are actively defiant, and those who may have become withdrawn due to angst, bullying, or any number of day to day worries. I have dedicated much time treating teenagers and adults who suffer with/from Anxiety and or Depression, PTSD, and most Mood Disorders. I enjoy working with couples and individuals who have a desire to work on their relationship skills. I have years of experience treating both Domestic Violence and Substance Abuse in groups.

I work with older adolescents and adults. I approach therapy from a gestalt perspective which means co-creating a meaningful depth and connection in therapy. I also train therapists in gestalt therapy and specialize in doing therapy with other therapists. My goal is to help others live richly, meaningfully, and deeply. I have worked with a variety of populations to include adults, children, couples, families, military, and LGBTQ+, all with various presenting problems and diagnoses. I’ve provided treatment for many with extended trauma both in childhood and adulthood, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, marital and relationship challenges, adjustment disorders, military lifestyle adjustment, and psychosis.
