Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT), Mindfulness Based Somatic Emotional Processing (MBSEP), Poly Vagal Education, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and RTM (Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories).
We all know what anxiety feels like. We get butterflies in our stomachs, our hearts pound; we worry and fret, or feel jittery. This can happen when we are alone, in social contexts, elevators, in the car, or even just thinking about it. If worries and fears, anxiety, panic, or insomnia related to anxiety are preventing you from living your life the way you’d like, you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder. Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. In short it is our body’s response to a perceived threat.

Problem gambling is one of the most hidden addictions in the U.S. due to the shame and stigma associated with gambling problems. Many people still mistake problem gambling for a moral problem or simply see it as poor choice making, rather than understanding the complex brain hijacking that problem gambling is for some people who can’t quit. Several neurotransmitters including dopamine, serotonin, glutamate, opioids, to name a few, are acting simultaneously on the brain during problem gambling.

Our clinicians specialize in evidence-based modalities including CBT for thought patterns, DBT for emotional regulation, RTM & EMDR for trauma recovery, and MBSEP/Mindfulness.
Couples Counseling with a therapist who “gets it” is often just what is needed for a relationship that is struggling, in conflict, on its last legs, or when it is going through transition. Sometimes relationships are in crisis due to infidelity or the discovery of pornography use. Couples counseling is proven to be very helpful in these situations, resolving relationship conflicts such as sexual problems, financial conflict, disagreements over parenting issues, or communication problems among other issues that arise in relationships.

I utilize ERP for OCD and look through the lenses of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT).
Do you feel like you’re constantly overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling responsible for everyone else's needs? You may look like you have it together on the outside, but inside you’re anxious, exhausted, and disconnected from yourself. I specialize in working with adults navigating chronic anxiety, OCD patterns, trauma, and people-pleasing tendencies, especially women who feel stuck in perfectionism or over-functioning in relationship. Together, we explore deeper patterning to allow you to feel more grounded and connected to self.

Do you struggle to know who you are, what you want, or what you truly need? If you grew up in a home where you didn't feel safe, seen, or good enough, you may have spent so much of your life adapting, people-pleasing, or staying in survival mode that self-discovery took a back seat. Many of my clients feel disconnected from themselves and struggle with boundaries, self-worth, anxiety, or relationships. Together, we'll build clarity, self-trust, and an intentional path forward that reflects who you are—not who you had to become to survive.

I create a tailored treatment plan for each client that may include EMDR, CBT, or DBT skills.
Are you struggling in a relationship that leaves you feeling confused, invalidated, gaslit, and questioning your own reality? Do you feel like you are involved with a "Jekyll and Hyde"? This can be a partner, a parent, a boss, or a close friend. If so, you may be suffering from Narcissistic Abuse. These types of relationships can lead to symptoms of PTSD, chronic illness and isolation. I can help you understand what is happening to you on a psychological and emotional level, and how to change your reactions and functioning in or out of the relationship.

Even if things look fine from the outside and you’re the kind of person who handles a lot, inside you might feel exhausted and emotionally drained. You may have thoughts or experiences you don’t feel comfortable sharing with anyone, not even close family or friends. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. I work with high-functioning individuals who feel stuck beneath the surface, people who are outwardly capable but inwardly overwhelmed. Many of my clients come to me battling overthinking, emotional fatigue, shame, anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination, panic, ADHD, or the lingering effects of complicated family dynamics.

I use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR to help treat individuals to heal and recover from the negative emotions associated with trauma.
Life can be very challenging, especially if you have experienced traumatic and difficult events. Sometimes people get "stuck" and have a difficult time after such experiences. Often, people just need an objective as well as supportive person to help them to work through the feelings associated with traumatic events. It would be my privilege to help you to navigate your thoughts and emotions to obtain a sense of clarity, peace, and healing. I am looking forward to working with you in your journey.

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
