I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or trauma due to a recent event or events that have occurred long in the past.
Are you experiencing racing thoughts, lack of motivation, or overwhelming emotions? Do you feel paralyzed by thoughts of the future or weighed down by memories of the past? Is your goal to get to a place where you can thrive instead of survive?

My practice serves individuals who feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite shift—often related to anxiety, trauma, or difficult relationship experiences.
I specialize in EMDR and trauma-focused psychotherapy, supported by CBT, psychoeducation, and other evidence-based tools. As a former teacher, I often incorporate practical, hands-on strategies like worksheets, writing, and between-session practices so clients leave with tools they can actually use, not just ideas.

Connecting with nature indoors or outside is good for our mental health, and this is a big part of how I help people struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, or difficulties that get in the way of feeling good about your life.
My approach to therapy uses connection to nature integrated with CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic therapies. Clients talk and process feelings while looking at the sky, touching trees, or walking on a trail. Being present with the natural world is proven to ease symptoms of mental health issues, improve client outcomes, and bring positive moments into our lives.

People seek therapy for various reasons. Sometimes a person is impacted by a specific life event/crisis. Alternately, a person may feel stuck; overwhelmed and confused realizing the way he/she has dealt with issues just hasn't seemed to work. Working together, we will engage in a collaborative learning process exploring issues bringing you to therapy. We will utilize the therapy process to cultivate greater self understanding, compassion for oneself and the ability to better navigate the twists and turns of life.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
