I have a certificate in
family therapy
from The Ackerman Institute, a certificate in psychoanalysis from The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey, and a certificate from NYU in working with substance abuse.
I believe individuals and families come into therapy with a great deal of strength to help themselves and each other. I see my job as helping people to unlock these strengths, see what patterns have blocked them from seeing them, and find ways to use them more effectively to realize their goals. I work to help people get as much joy as possible from their relationships and from their lives in general.

Depression, anxiety and problems in relationships often cause deep anguish and pain - just getting by each day is tough. We often struggle alone believing things will never get better. Friends and
family
urge us to just get over it, but sometimes that makes it feel worse. You need someone to talk to. In the safety and privacy of our offices, you will have your therapist's unwavering attention, devoted to helping you untangle the mess that exists in your life. Together, we will help you change what you thought was unchangeable but also accept what you thought was unacceptable.

The ideal client typically has
family
or interpersonal relationship conflicts and/or poor boundaries. Also, at times the ideal client has a history of childhood trauma or childhood conflicts that the client has not processed. I would process their
family
/interpersonal relationship conflicts and trauma/conflicts and create healthy coping skills to cope with these issues. Also, I would want to explore with the client what the client considers healthy and unhealthy boundaries and be able to create healthier boundaries in these relationships.

I wanted to get into the mental health field from a young age, as I was always surrounded by friends and
family
who struggled with mental health.
I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

I am trained in many trauma focused therapies that facilitate this deeper healing process - EMDR, Internal
Family
Systems, NARM, Somatic Experiencing-but above all consider myself to be a relational and relatable therapist who prioritizes the relationship with my clients as the primary healing agent.
Are you tired of experiencing the same patterns and want to heal at the root of your symptoms? I specialize in treating trauma, addictions, and self esteem issues - in particularly with women and teenagers. When my clients first come in, their lives are overrun by fear and insecurities. They carry around deep shame about who they are and never feel quite “good enough”. They want to be confident and heal the patterns that are holding them back but do not know where to start.

I will prioritize and cultivate an environment that is safe and comfortable to share whatever you as an individual, couple, or
family
are experiencing.
Throughout the therapeutic process, I will work with you on nurturing your needs and self-worth. I consider myself a relationship specialist that tunes into underlying relational issues to improve the understanding of oneself and their relationship to other interrelated systems. My approach is to track cycles of interactions and help one to better understand previous patterns and re-establish better connections and raise internal and external awareness. I utilize an open and flexible manner to understand challenges, promote insight, and cultivate growth and change.

I believe
Family
Systems play a huge role in how people grow and learn.
I bring intention, patience and hope into my work as a therapist and try my best to inspire you to do the same. I like for you to feel secure and comfortable when you come into my office; and empowered and satisfied when you leave. My sessions are free of judgments, and spent building a foundation where progress toward your goal(s) can be made. Regular day-to-day obligations can easily interfere with our best intentions. Identifying and expressing your goal(s) is the first step. I would embrace the opportunity to work with you.

family
psychoeducation.
Seeking help is a huge first step and I understand that what you are going through may feel intense, painful, and scary. You deserve to live the best quality of life and to have the confidence to reach your goals and aspirations. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment, so you can feel comfortable and know you are not fighting your battles alone. What you need has been in front of you the whole time, you just need someone to help you see it!

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
