Being a Marriage and Family Therapist has given me the opportunity to step outside of the clinical box and work with an array of different mental and behavioral health issues. Having established positive therapeutic relationships with children, individuals, couples, and families has allowed me to gain insight into the daily struggles we all face from time to time. Whether it be anxiety, depression , lack of communication, defiant child-parent dynamics, or phase of life circumstances, I believe there is always an opportunity to make positive changes and start living a life we are truly excited about.

Have you ever felt afraid to fail? Regardless of the circumstances, failing, for some is not an option, yet it consumes many to a point where you become stifled into being complacent. You might find yourself frozen in doing nothing because you are stuck. The truth is high achievers often struggle with anxiety – it’s par for the course. Those who find success in all aspects of life are often viewed as “having it all together” but what often follows is a bag full of stress, depression , and anxiety. These states often lead to destructive or disturbing thought patterns, which then leads to negative influences on behavior and emotions.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression , parenting difficulties, or relationship issues.
Sometimes, you just need someone to talk to, someone who is a good listener and, most importantly, non-judgmental. Talking to a stranger about very personal issues is hard. It takes time to develop a bond and establish trust with a therapist. I am aware of that and strive to give the client as much time as he or she needs. Feeling worried and nervous is a reasonable response to uncertain circumstances, exacerbated by the stressors caused by the pandemic. Deciding to get help is a proactive and healthy step towards change and self-acceptance.

Experienced in treating depression , anxiety, complex trauma, and relationship distress, I draw on attachment and psychodynamic theories while integrating evidence-based practice, including CBT and EFT for couples.
The demands of daily living often deny us the opportunity to reflect upon and respond to that which needs healing. Beyond helping you find relief from distressing symptoms, I aim to create an affirming space where you can explore and repair patterns that have left you feeling stuck, lost and disconnected. Our work will focus on empowering you to claim the life you deem meaningful and the relationships you find fulfilling. Having been fortunate to work with clients of diverse backgrounds and ages, I am attuned to the ways that culture informs experience and draw upon these considerations throughout my work with teens to older adults.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
