Working together in a safe therapy space, we will explore feelings of worry, anger, confusion and sadness.
Are there times you feel overwhelmed dealing with life’s daily struggles? Do you ever feel completely alone even if you are surrounded by others? Do you search for support only to find there just isn’t anyone there? Do you often feel resentful toward or angry with people?

Over the last decade, I have successfully helped children, adolescents, and adults from different backgrounds achieve their goals. The clients I have worked with have struggled with issues including but not limited to: anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, personality disorders, stage of life issues, relationship conflicts, anger management, self-confidence, and impulse control difficulties. My number one goal is for us to build trust in our relationship so that we can work together to achieve your goals too.

I have been using the skills and techniques for over 12 years to help many individuals with a wide variety of mood related issues including depression, anxiety, and anger.
Therapy is a delicate balance of acceptance and change. I use a person-centered approach to create a validating environment in which you can open up, feel genuinely cared for, and develop a trusting therapeutic relationship. I can guide you through the complex process of change. I can offer skills and techniques for improving your life in the short term while the work of learning how to change your thinking takes place. I primarily practice Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which I have extensive training and experience with, and also use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

It is difficult to know where to begin when it comes to your mental health, especially if you are suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, or a big life change. I believe growth comes from enhancing our understanding of ourselves, and learning to make choices that can lead us to greater freedom and lasting positive change. You have the potential for health and healing.

Therapy is an opportunity to “sea” possibilities that lay before you. We can’t change the past, but we can eliminate patterns that don’t serve us and keep us stuck. Are you looking for a safe place to explore thoughts and feelings without judgment?

Throughout our lives we are constantly challenged with change and transition. Sometimes these periods of change are smooth and gradual but often our course in life can be altered in unforeseen ways. These changes can arise out of many issues such as aging, grief, loss, identity and trauma. Change can affect us at any period throughout our lives. From early childhood through our later years we encounter obstacles and issues that force us to adapt. It is through this adaptation that we learn to overcome our struggles, embrace our strengths and become our greatest selves.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
