I am experienced in various therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Trauma -Focused CBT (TFCBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
My ideal client is actively contemplating making changes in their life. They are prepared to discuss, explore, and process their trauma history and to find meaning in their experiences. They are able to work towards identifying how they would like to see their quality of life change (for example, reduce and better manage anxiety) and are prepared to take the necessary steps to do so. Additionally, the client can tolerate being challenged when their thinking or behaviors are inconsistent with their goals.

I use an eclectic, strengths-based, trauma -informed approach to therapy that is integrative and collaborative.
Clients, as well as therapists, come in all shapes and sizes. When it comes to finding a good fit in a therapist, clients should feel safe and comfortable to be able to open up over time. Personality plays a huge role in compatibility. Down to earth, approachable, and relaxed are three qualities that describe my persona. I strive to provide clients with a safe space to feel respected, heard, and understood. I support clients in building effective communication skills, fostering meaningful relationships, practicing appropriate social skills, utilizing healthy coping strategies, and to establish and maintain healthy boundaries.

I specialize in trauma , anxiety, depression, self- empowerment, pre-marital education/ counseling, parenting coaching and relationships.
I work with motivated, insightful adults who want to better understand how their past has impacted them and what they can do about it now. I work with adults who feel stuck: who are anxious/ depressed, feel they're stuck in a loop in their relationships or who are trying to make sense of patterns in their lives and want to become a better version of themselves. Utilizing a goal-oriented, direct and interactive approach, I help clients look at patterns in their lives: the way they think, how they express themselves, their relationships and help them learn more about themselves.

I am certified in trauma and am an integrative medicine professional, allowing those individuals who would like to explore a more holistic approach to mental health treatment.
I work best with individuals in which are internally motivated for change, looking to work collaboratively alongside the individual to explore depression, anxiety, PTSD , codependency, and much more. My approach to therapy is person-centered and solution-focused, focused on offering a kind, compassionate, yet straightforward approach to growth, which encourages individuals to think deeper and build connections that will assist them with a better understanding of the underlying issues. I believe that the client-therapist relationship is by far the most important aspect that encourages internal growth.

I am trained in trauma focused CBT and have extensive experience working with childhood, physical, sexual, and combat related trauma .
The COVID-19 pandemic has had such an enormous impact on how we live our daily lives. In my experience throughout this time, not only are we faced with horrendous grief and loss to the virus, many of the underlying mental health issues that were present prior to the pandemic, have now risen to the surface and been causing all sorts of havoc. If you are experiencing increased anxiety, depression, struggling with financial hardship, substance abuse or coping with past trauma , therapy is a place to start on the road to learning to cope with this life we are given and this situation we have been forced to persevere through.

*NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* With over 20 years experience I specialize in trauma , anxiety, depression, and PTSD . These are times of uncertainty, and being forced out of your routine can be difficult. Maybe the "new normal" isn't working. Maybe getting back to normal means deciding which parts of "normal" are worth going back to. Sometimes we just need someone to process our thoughts with. I work in an environment where my clients feel comfortable to share their experiences. First responders are welcome.

I specialize in multiple approaches, such as Gottman Method for Couples Therapy and EMDR for trauma and other mental health issues.
You really can have a life of abundance, peace, life, and joy! You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning. If you are currently experiencing difficulties as an individual or in your relationship. you’ve likely faced some type of hurt, disappointment, unmet expectations, or a disconnect in the relationship. While most couples come to therapy due to issues such as communication, finances, and intimacy, often these are just presenting symptoms of a more specific problem. You came to the right place for support.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
