Life is a journey that can sometimes seem overwhelming with no supports. You feel stuck in patterns or behaviors, wanting new ways to meet life's difficulties. Feelings of powerlessness and vulnerability understandably lead to distress, impacting relationships you have with your partner, children, friends or coworkers. I believe we live in, and are a product of our relationships - not only with others, but with our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is my belief that to operate authentically in connection to those around us, we must work to strengthen the most integral relationship we hold; the one we have with ourselves.

In a world plagued with problems, it can seem as though solutions don't exist, but I am convinced that all problems have answers. People are unique and a treatment plan is needed to address each individual's unique problems. I use an integrated approach to treating patients. My background (MPhil degree) in genetics gives me an edge; help me to understand behaviors and problems at an inheritance level. As a scholar I approach problems with scientific method and look at the cause and effect of all problems before coming with an appropriate solution.

As an educator, relationship counselor, and sex therapist, I believe we are equipped with powers within ourselves to discover the answers to life's issues and sexual difficulties. if we are motivated to experience change from a positive perspective, stay in the "Here and Now " and utilize the power of forgiveness, these powers can be manifested. Receiving counseling is the vehicle consumers can use to assist in the manifestation of these inner powers.

Specialties: saving couples on-the-brink, marital rescue after
infidelity
, empty-nester marriages, family size decisions & co-parenting after divorce.
DURING THE PANDEMIC-ALL SESSIONS ARE CONDUCTED VIA ZOOM. What motivates me? 90% of divorcing couples do not receive EVEN ONE HOUR of marital therapy, 2/3 of divorces do not involve high-conflict marriages, children of divorce are twice as likely to divorce and 2/3 of divorces occur within the first 10 years of marriage. I have been married for 43 years, father of 4, counseling couples in NYC since 1980 with an 80% success rate in saving couples on the brink. Most couples wait 2 years before seeking any help. Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
