OFFERING TELEHEALTH SESSION. Have you ever thought of change as loss? Even positive change can trigger loss, like starting a new job, graduation or moving into a new home. When we move forward, we leave something behind. Adjust. Readjust. Grief is normal and is an entire emotional process of coping with a loss. Are you struggling with a stressful life transition, depression, anxiety, illness, divorce, work/life imbalance, loss of a pet, an empty nest, unsatisfying relationships? I would like to help you manage your struggles, learn self care and find your inner strength. The grief process doesn’t look or feel the same for anyone.

In our work together, I show up as my full self, not just as a therapist, but as a human. You don’t have to hide any parts of yourself here; every piece of you is welcome. I believe you already have the capacity for growth and change within you. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about uncovering your strengths, making sense of what feels stuck, and finding new ways forward that actually work for you. My goal is to make therapy feel meaningful, practical, and grounded in your real life. I specialize in supporting clients who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, body image, perfectionism, and self-doubt...

My therapy style is grounded in aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness based approaches.
Change and healing can be a difficult journey to endure alone, and finding a therapist to help you through is often the hardest step that you can take. I want to make that first step as comfortable as possible by offering a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. I believe in the importance of building trust within the therapeutic relationship to provide you a safe space to nurture hope and gain insight into your own struggles. Our work together will help you learn creative and realistic coping strategies to assist in managing tough emotions, improve communication, reduce stress, and increase self-acceptance.

Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. You might be dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, or patterns that keep repeating despite your insight and effort. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and create real, lasting change. My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I integrate evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT with deeper work around attachment, trauma, and parts (IFS-informed).

My journey into the field began as a teenager in therapy, igniting a passion for helping others. A pivotal moment came while working as a summer camp music teacher when a young camper in crisis climbed to the roof, threatening to jump. Talking him down safely transformed my perspective: I realized that people need tools to navigate life’s challenges even more than they need to learn new skills like playing the trumpet. That experience redirected my path toward psychology and, ultimately, social work, where I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals find hope and healing.

I specialize in DBT, CBT, trauma-focused care, and mindfulness-based approaches.
I’m especially passionate about working with women who are ready to heal from trauma and create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Many of the women I work with are navigating the impact of past experiences while also managing current life stressors, relationships, and expectations. They often want to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves — not just surviving, but truly living. Their goals typically include building emotional resilience, strengthening boundaries, deepening self-worth, and becoming the healthiest, most authentic version of themselves.

As the Founder of Navesink Wellness Center, my team and I have created a unique treatment approach that goes beyond managing symptoms to uncover the root causes of emotional challenges. We believe that lasting change happens when we understand the deeper reasons behind our feelings - allowing us to address the underlying patterns rather than the surface struggles. Our collaborative approach brings together the expertise of multiple disciplines to provide a complete view of each client’s needs. We combine ongoing connection with a comprehensive approach to address both the origin of the challenges and the symptoms they create.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
