I have experience with several treatment modalities and approaches, including EMDR, IFS, CBT, ACT, and DBT.
Worry. Restlessness. Poor Concentration. Intrusive Thoughts. Panic. Our mental health can serve as a major disruption to our lives. I admire your courage in taking this step to seek out help. As your therapist, I will first strive to understand your story. Then, we will collaboratively identify a therapeutic approach that will best fit your goals. Often times, our past impacts our present . Therefore, we can strive to not only address your current symptoms, but attempt to resolve the root causes to your problems, such as unresolved trauma. We don’t always realize how much old emotional wounds are still causing us pain.

I combine techniques such as Internal Family Systems Therapy ( IFS) and EMDR Therapy to help individuals focus on getting to know themselves in a kind and compassionate way which naturally helps your mind be restored to health.
Hello and welcome, are feelings of not being good enough interfering with you self confidence? Do you hear negative self-talk and believe it? Is striving for perfection interfering with your happiness? I can help you turn down the volume of your inner critic and that can immediately reduce Anxiety and Depression. I can guide you on a path of self discovery that helps you identify and get to know these well meaning parts of yourself that are trying to protect you - but instead seem to block joy, happiness and self-esteem.

Different modalities used Parts Work, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Restorative Justice.
The primitive brain can take over, when it does we can be harsh on ourselves and carry feelings like an anchor. When one area of our life is off, it impacts others areas like a leaky faucet too slow to notice and life begins to flood. We know to swim to survive but don't think float to save our energy. This struggle leads to exhaustion and a series of emotions that create new issues. Hurt people; hurt people. Becoming present & reflecting, leads to peace. If we could take a step back to see what needs solving? Things are not black and white, there is a lot of gray in between; things can co-exist. www.mindfulmindscounseling.com

Many clients find Internal Family Systems work helps with a wide variety of concerns
Are you feeling grief, loss and overwhelm at what's happening in our country? Wondering how to balance the changes you want to make in your own life with surviving uncertain times? Concerned about finding a provider who "gets it?" More than ever, it is impossible to separate what is happening outside and inside the therapy room. I consider myself a liberation psychologist, with a strong belief that changing our inner worlds has everything to do with change in the outside world, and what causes us internal pain must be understood in the context of our environment.

I am a Neurofeedback Specialist, Mindfulness trained, Internal Family Systems expert and my major is in PTSD/trauma.
My "ideal client" knows to provide loved ones the very best, he or she must also be at an individual best. Short-changing the "self" depletes the ability to offer abundance to others. Whereas prospering in heart, health, mind, and body lead to connections of premium value. My clients look beyond the ordinary, knowing possibilities are endless and will be found with concerted effort and bravery. Keeping life fresh, free and filled with potential, elevates us all. When my clients depart they have renewed joy and gratitude because they are awakened to the gifts that were once just beyond their reach but now part their life scripts.

I integrate Somatic Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems ( IFS) to help clients nurture deep healing and sustainable change.
Do you struggle with people-pleasing, perfectionism, and low self-confidence? Does imposter syndrome and fear of failure constantly get in the way of your personal and professional aspirations? Like many clients I work with, you can mask your insecurities well, presenting a confident and productive exterior. You’re independent, self-motivated, and accomplished, yet deep down, you may struggle with self-acceptance and self- compassion. Additionally, your relationships may be fraught with drama and people who lack emotional maturity. Although you try to form deeper connections, they are continually out of reach.

Internal Family Systems ( IFS) allows your mind to process your thoughts and feelings with so much clarity than ever before.
Do you feel like you're just barely holding on? Don't feel like yourself at all? I know you've probably explored therapy before but haven't felt relief because you only cut through the surface. I know how difficult it can be to fully feel alive when there is something heavy weighing you down. The hopelessness that you feel just to be able to live a normal life feels almost impossible. Whether you are struggling with past trauma, relationships, or anxiety. You are not alone in this. Even when your worries and troubles bring you down, I'll be here to remind you that you matter and that with the right tools, we can get through this.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
