I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate difficult times in their family and personal lives. In addition to working with adults struggling with a variety of issues, I have particular expertise in treating women of all ages. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is focused on helping you best understand yourself including your past, your current struggles and your hopes for your future. In therapy with me, you'll explore your whole self; logistically, psychologically, and spiritually.

In my professional work I have learned to empathize deeply and to make observations and interpretations based on years of accumulated clinical knowledge and experience. While my professional training has been invaluable, my clients (and my colleagues, too) have been the most extraordinary teachers of life and healing. Through my work I have learned to be more open and compassionate and more fully human. This enables me to be a more effective facilitator in the healing process of psychotherapy. It is always a privilege to do emotional healing work with another human being--both of us are enriched.

Advanced EMDR (ask about EMDR Intensives!) IFS, and CBT are my primary tools of choice for trauma, depression, anxiety, and a host of other personal and relationship issues.
Sometimes we feel alone, misunderstood, scared. Other times we feel anger, turmoil, overwhelmed. It can be a painful past which still gives us no peace, or a fork in the road ahead which confuses us. We may have no way to settle our fears. Children may be challenging us, or we may be observing them struggle in their personal lives. Relationships may be unsettling or disappointing. What we all want is happiness, inner peace. Gratifying relationships. Pride in our parenting. A way to move on from past traumas and allow us to feel free again.

Hi! I am a psychotherapist, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, with Haitian roots. Beyond my clinical work, I am a plant enthusiast and a devoted cat mom to my tortie, Badu (the “Erykah” is silent). My practice focuses on work with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients who have felt unseen or misunderstood. You may be navigating identity, trauma, anxiety, depression, or challenging relationships. You want clarity, healing, and the freedom to show up fully as yourself. Many of my clients seek a safe space to explore patterns, process grief, build self-confidence, and create meaningful connections while reclaiming joy.

Maybe you overthink, experience anxiety, or have emotional reactions that look bigger than the situation. You may have experienced adverse events early in life that continue to cloud the lens through which you see the world, even at middle age and beyond. You may be a parent who feels exhausted from trying to manage your and your child’s emotions, unsure what helps and what makes things worse. I provide evidence-based, trauma-informed care for students, individual adults, couples, and families in-person in Red Bank, NJ and virtually throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Stop the unhealthy relationship cycle, find new ways of getting your emotional needs met. I help individuals, who have struggled in their relationships, gain a better understanding of how the cycle of unhealthy relationships began. We explore how to create healthier, more fulfilling, emotional connections in a collaborative, nurturing, nonjudgmental environment. My clients, are often successful in life, but they also talk about how they are never happy or fulfilled in their current relationships. They talk about the difficult childhood that they had and often recognize the connection between the two.

Prioritizing your emotional and mental needs is empowering, but takes courage - often taking the first step is the most challenging part. While there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to therapy, it's meaningful to feel heard and accepted when pursuing healing, development and personal growth. Feeling trapped, powerless, anxious, depressed and/or stuck can lead to frustration and isolation. When looking for someone to help you identify, assess and articulate your feelings, needs and goals, I can provide an empathetic, supportive and solution-oriented approach to you on your therapeutic journey. You are not alone!

As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment holding space for clients to explore their inner world without fear of judgement. My work is informed by understanding the nervous system as the heart of our lived experience. I assist clients in exploring their survival strategies and internalized coping methods through a lens of compassion to grow their capacity for becoming more attuned to the body’s wisdom. With a holistic, mind-body approach to healing, shame can soften, allowing learned helplessness to transform into empowerment.

For clients with a history of trauma, I also use IFS skills and techniques.
Relationships have the potential to be deeply fulfilling or immensely frustrating. Especially if they lead to conflict, disagreements, and disconnection. You may have tried therapy before but the issues persist and seem more and more untenable, gnawing at your sense of peace and happiness. As you sleep, you find yourself yearning for a deeper sense of meaning in your relationship. Anything to end the endless cycle of frustration, disappointment & hopelessness. You ask yourself if it's possible to get there.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
