Is work or school stressing you out? Are you tired of feeling on edge and not being happy? Are you having a hard time with friends/bullies or the changes in your life? If this is you, It is time for you to take care of yourself and address what is holding you back from a fulfilling and happier life. We often wear many hats and don't regularly take the time to address our needs. This often leads to being stressed, depressed, and anxious. I believe that everyone, no matter their life circumstances, can heal and grow. I am confident that you can not just survive in life, but thrive!

I have 24 years of highly-skilled experience in helping people heal from the effects of sexual, physical, and emotional trauma and move toward a life they love.
Feeling stuck or haunted by the past? Maybe you’ve tried to move on—telling yourself it wasn’t a big deal—but that stopped working. The world can feel heavy and uncertain, especially if you’ve lived through emotional, physical, or sexual abuse earlier in life. This can also make it harder to feel safe or hopeful. You’ve tried talk therapy and/or the DIY approach, but still feel stuck or alone. It’s not your fault. Often, either one of these reach the deeper layers needed for true healing.

I specialize in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, relationships, spirituality, body image, and life transitions.
We all have the potential to feel better than we do, even when life seems alright on the surface. But if you're here, chances are something hasn’t felt quite right for a while. The good news is, that can change, and often more easily than we expect. Our bodies have an incredible, natural ability to heal, and by tapping into that innate wisdom, we can navigate challenges, process difficult experiences, and move towards a deeper sense of well-being.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by emotions to the point of shutting down or losing a sense of control? Is it hard to trust others or feel genuinely connected? Do you carry tension or experience persistent muscle pain? In my experience, much of what we feel is shaped by automatic physiological responses to our environment. These reactions can give rise to unwanted thoughts and emotions—but with awareness and support, it's possible to make those experiences more manageable and less overwhelming.

Play therapy in the areas of Child Psychology, Behavioral Issues, Trauma and Anxiety.
I treat chronic pain using Dr. John Sarno's work on Tension Myoneural Syndrome. TMS is due to unconscious repressed rage and conflicts developed during childhood. I deeply respect the human ability to surpass anger and strive to live life in a fuller capacity. I was trained under Dr. Arlene Feinblatt who had been the primary psychologist for Dr. Sarno since 1973 to do TMS treatment. I work alongside with a TMS physician, Dr. Paul Gwozdz at the Family Practice in Somerset, New Jersey. Together we help patients cope with chronic pain following Dr. Sarno's techniques.

I specialize in relationally-oriented trauma-focused therapy.
You may find yourself feeling "stuck" in your current experience, repeating patterns that no longer serve you, and are unsure of how to get out of the cycle.  You may be new to therapy, and unsure of what you would even talk about, but have a sense that you are impacted by past events in your life that you haven't fully addressed.  Or, you may be arriving here after years of therapy, frustrated with a lack of progress with previous treatment that, while perhaps helpful, did not seem to address some of your core issues.  Regardless of your history, or how long you've been struggling, meaningful change and growth is possible.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
