I have extensive experience working across different communities and continents with people having anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD , trauma of all kinds.
Let’s Just Not Aim to Heal. Let’s Aim to Emerge Stronger! You have taken the first step to seek help and challenge your “Inner Enemy.” By making the decision to look your enemy in the eye, you have shown that you possess the strength and resolve to emerge stronger. My role as your therapist is to help you get there. Not by using big words or complicated processes! There is “no easy button.” In fact just the opposite - It happens with sharing the hurt, with empathy, respect, collaboration, and with walking the long path together. This is where experience teams up with empathy.

My approach is client centered, strengths based and trauma informed. I specialize in trauma treatment. The impact of trauma and mental illness on men is rarely a social conversation. Needless to say men are likely to go for decades without seeking help and suffer in silence. This is where I bring years of experience working with men struggling with trauma . I also have worked with women's issues, trauma , depression, anxiety, and specialized in addictions for over a decade. Perhaps you are experiencing depression amidst caring for a loved one who is struggling with a addiction, mental illness or co-occurring issues.

While we can’t provide you with a magical user’s manual to life, we can offer you an ancient symbol of peace, an olive branch. We want to help you extend that olive branch to not only the important relationships in your life but to yourself as well. Because at the end of the day, we all deserve inner peace.

We all want to be healthy, happy, understood. But life often presents unexpected challenges that create stress, resurface old hurts or stir-up painful memories. At these times, a supportive ear and thoughtful guidance can facilitate moving forward and promote healing. Regardless of what leads you to seek therapy; wanting to gain greater awareness or experience more joy, find a professional with whom you can form a meaningful relationship. I believe that we all strive towards health, and carry with us a set of strengths. Successful therapy draws upon those strengths and endeavors to build even more.

*I'm accepting clients with am/early pm availability* Unhelpful behaviors, emotions, thoughts, & beliefs sometimes indicate we don't have the words&life experiences on which to reflect and find solutions/hope. These can be an expression of unmet needs, uncommunicated truths, insufficient coping skills, and can be signals that something is not OK. There is hope. People can communicate, heal, grow, understand, empathize, & manage their lives to thrive, succeed, and feel satisfied. Together we can find a way. I also coach parents to help best understand/communicate with their child/teen/developmentally disabled adult child.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
