As we are all human beings and have taken falls throughout life and required help getting back up. There is no one perfect in this world as we all have faced obstacles in challenges throughout life many dealing with trauma, stressors, mental health issues, and so on. I know the feeling of not being able to trust others and feeling like you are struggling alone, and others do not understand what you are going through. Trust is the essential ingredient in reaching out to someone for help taking the steps towards wellness, and I do believe that I am that one that can help you through your journey to recovery.

Hi! I’m Meg and I am glad you're here. Looking for a therapist takes courage; I want to acknowledge the very challenging steps that you are taking to find support either for yourself or for a loved one. As a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) I view our mental wellbeing as a culmination of factors ranging from our genetics to our daily stressors which can sometimes make us feel like our world is crashing down all at once or that things are happening as a trickle with no rhyme or reason. Navigating our inner world simultaneously with the external world can be overwhelming.

Even if you are exploring therapy for the first time or have had prior treatment, the initial contact with a therapist can be daunting. Feel free to contact me to discuss how therapy may help and if I am the right therapist for you. I would be happy to spend some time on the phone to answer any questions you may have as well as to help you decide whether or not to set up an initial appointment.

My ideal client is someone who feels weighed down by anxiety, grief, or relationship struggles and is searching for relief, clarity, and a sense of stability again. They may feel stuck in patterns they can't break or overwhelmed by emotions they don’t know how to navigate. What they want most is peace, direction, and support they can trust. They're ready for a space where they can breathe, feel understood, and begin healing without judgment. You don't have to face any of this alone.

I specialize in attachment concerns, codependency, anxiety, OCD, low mood, substance use and relationship challenges.
Early life experiences often shape how we relate to others and how we treat ourselves. Through attachment-based work and inner child exploration, we’ll gently uncover patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll build skills to set healthy boundaries, reduce anxiety, and develop a stronger, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained maybe due to anxiety, a major life transition, or having a hard time setting boundaries. You could be caught in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, or just feeling unsure about what comes next. What you’re really looking for is a space where you can be yourself vulnerable, honest, and free from judgment. You want to feel more grounded and confident, better manage stress, and build a life that actually reflects your values. You’re ready to shift the patterns that no longer serve you and learn new ways to take care of your emotional well-being.

You might be feeling stuck, caught in the same patterns even though you “know better.” Maybe you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship/marriage struggles, or a big life transition that has left you feeling overwhelmed. You may have even tried therapy or self-help before, but it never quite led to the lasting change you were hoping for. Together, we’ll look at what’s holding you back, uncover your strengths, and build the strategies you need to create the life you want - because real change starts with real talk.

The areas that I help my clients with are for those dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency, low emotional intelligence, addictions (especially sex/porn addiction), personality disorders and trauma.
I am here to help you! I think building trust is probably one of the most important things you need to establish when working with people, especially in therapy. I try to create a space of comfort to talk about uncomfortable things. It is important to know "the why" so I also try to teach and educate you about your issues and why they are happening.

Attachment insecurity, codependency, shame, chronic anxiety, and depression are some of the main issues I treat.
You might feel stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. I specialize in helping adults heal from complex trauma (CPTSD), trauma bonds (push/pull relationships), PTSD, and attachment. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, or feeling stuck due to early family or relational experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and paced. We focus on building nervous system capacity at a tolerable speed and working with emotions that feel “stuck” rather than pushing past them. Therapy is collaborative, grounded, and consistent -well-suited for people who want sustainable change.

You're drinking or using more than you want, but "alcoholic" doesn't fit and "fine" doesn't either. You've been making promises to yourself you break by Wednesday. Or your partner is the one drinking or using. You've been counting drinks. Knowing the difference between drunk-quiet and "tired"-quiet. Telling friends "we're fine" because the real version is too much to explain in a parking lot. Most of the people I work with hold jobs, raise kids, and have one private thing they can't keep ignoring. The label doesn't fit, but the life they're living doesn't either. That's the gap we work in.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
