Life
is difficult.
After some thorough reconsideration of the current socio-cultural landscape, I have decided to focus my efforts on those disillusioned, displaced, and depressed young adults who struggle with three attributes that are necessary (if not imperative) to live a fulfilling
life
: Self-reliance, Self-sufficiency, and Self-governance. I believe that the facilitation of these realistic, accountable, and disciplined attributes will only create a much more valuable and enlightening existence.

I am certain that people have within them the capacity to grow, change and find a better balance in their lives. In my sessions, I provide clients with practical tools and coping skills to apply to everyday situations. We examine how negative self-talk perpetuates the cycle of depression and anxiety and set about to replace it with positive thought processes. We explore ways to restore connections and communication in your relationships, rediscover self-care and build a
life
worth living. I incorporate DBT principles (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness) into our work together.

Often times we seek therapy because of struggles in relationships, adjusting to a new phase in
life
, uncertainty about the future, family stress, anxiety, & depression. You don't need to wait until you are in crisis to get help. Learning the balance between self-care & community care is a practice. Together we can explore different tools that can support you to work through emotions & patterns that may have happened in the past, but are playing a part in your desire to grow now. We don't choose what happens to us, but it is part of our journey to work through them. Our work together is to increase your choices and awareness.

What if you stopped giving fear so much power? Fear tells you to shy away from what you truly want and to censor who you actually are. Over time, hiding and lying can make it hard for you to feel certain about what you want so you wait around for people to tell you what to do. It’s become easy to depend on others to make decisions for you. But you realize that this is not the
life
you want to lead. You want to trust in yourself and not constantly rely on others for reassurance. You want to be you and I’m here to help you get there.

I will help your child individually, as well as offer education and
coaching
for you.
Worried moms & frazzled dads, look no further! Maybe your child/teen is anxious, sad, angry, or acting out. You've tried empathy, rewards, punishments, extra attention, special privileges. You've read books, consulted parenting blogs, & asked other parents for advice. Whatever you try, it may even work for a few days but then all the old problems come right back. Maybe your boy wants to dress like a girl and it's freaking you out. Maybe your teen declares "I'm queer"--what does that even mean? Let's add the stress of the global pandemic, and you're exhausted, frustrated, and worried about your child's future.

The key to win at
life
is understanding that you steer the circumstances that may feel chaotic.
My clients learn to skillfully and creatively solve their relational problems of loveless ness, toxicity, and co-dependency to gain the peace and love they need in their lives. I teach clients to be resourceful and open their perspective about the difficulties in their lives to acceptance. This opens our work to the possibility of new channels of personal empathy and self-compassion. Clients learn to deal with challenging, ingrained anxieties and stubborn habitual patterns of behavior, emotion, and beliefs about themselves and others. We build new maps of meaning that enable clients to experience confidence and freedom.

How you feel is valid, your story matters, and you deserve to be heard. It can be hard to listen to that healthy voice inside of you that desires guidance and support. I want to take a moment to acknowledge your bravery for taking the first step in your journey. It can be challenging to navigate through various transitions during adulthood where social, emotional, biological and psychological changes are vibrant. Therapy can provide you not only support during these times but also education and tools to help you succeed.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
