My approach weaves together pacing strategies, somatic awareness, creative expression, and is trauma-informed to foster regulation, self-trust, and a deeper confidence in who you are.
If you're finding it difficult to manage responsibilities with your unique differences or if you find yourself getting stuck in 'what if' scenarios, anxiety loops, self-doubt, you are not alone. I support adults navigating ADHD/ autism, health anxiety, OCD, and chronic illness (i.e., I am most familar with POTS/ Dysautonomia, ME/CFS, and migraines). I aim to cultivate a space that is neurodiversity affirming and chronic illness informed. I value creating a safe & inclusive space to help you feel seen, supported, & understood.

Adulthood is all about making decisions. Decisions about our wellness, our relationships, our careers, our families. At times we question if the path we are on is the right one for us. We may feel stuck or worried that we are behind the goals we set for our lives. I help people unlearn that which no longer serves them and support them as they cultivate a life that nurtures growth, healing, and fulfillment.

Our therapists at Healing and Recovery arts are specially trained in expressive therapy (including integrating art, movement, writing and music into sessions); women's, gender and LGBT issues; overcoming trauma, abuse, and victimization; addiction recovery and DBT.
Do others see you as someone who has it all together? Inside, are you feeling like you're falling apart? Do feelings of emptiness consume you? For many women suffering with emotional wounds, anxiety, isolation and hopelessness can become a daily part of life. Sometimes managing painful times from the past intrude on their ability to enjoy the present. Sometimes compulsive eating patterns, substance abuse, spending or even relationships seem like the only way to numb the pain. You don't have to face it alone. We can work together to find new solutions for wellness, healing and recovery.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in working with individuals, couples, and families dealing complex trauma, PTSD, early childhood and relational trauma, anger management, high-conflict relationships, substance abuse, anger management, and both DCPP and/or court-involved clients.
Often individuals who have experienced on-going internal or relational conflict feel stuck in a cycle that they can't seem to control no matter how many attempts or strategies they try. In the confusion and exhaustion, they give up and give in to hopelessness, low self-worth, shame, anger, and fear. This leads into more alienation, suffering, and despair. Those who want to heal the relationship with themselves and with those they love can rediscover the self that is trapped under all of the pain, anger, and fear. With empathic support, knowledge, and adequate resources, healing is possible.

I am very open with my patients about my understanding of their problems and what I think is likely to be helpful. I do my best to present my conceptualization clearly, and I invite feedback. Based on our shared understanding of the problem, I suggest potential interventions and foci for treatment for my patients to consider. This collaboration helps to ensure that therapy feels relevant. It acknowledges my respect for the patient and establishes a therapeutic relationship that fosters self-efficacy.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
