I practice from a client centered strengths based focus - we are all just humans trying to figure out how to navigate life. My therapy style is a combination of understanding and validating causes and developing a plan to cope and build a life that you experience as worth living.

Therapy is a very personal journey and each individual is unique and has their own story to tell. I am here to listen to your story and guide you on your journey of self-discovery. My work is solution-focused, strength-based, empowering, motivating, and encouraging. I focus on what you can do rather than what you cannot. I embrace a diverse clientele (including transgender) and issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, loss & grief, as well as trauma.

Having over 15 years of experience working with diverse populations ranging from those struggling with mood disorders, chemical dependence/addictions, school-based services, justice involved, crisis intervention, in-home as well as in/outpatient settings, our clinicians bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experience and unique skills sets.

My techniques and approaches consider the individual needs of the client. I believe in the ability of individuals to maximize their potential for wellness with the right combination of perseverance and supportive interventions. My clinical experience includes working in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as with incarcerated individuals.

"How did I get here?" It's a question many of us have asked ourselves in the course of our lives. Sometimes "here" is a frustrating, sad, or even scary place. The question we may ask ourselves is, "How do I get to where I want to be?" Sometimes the answer lies in a place where we can receive nonjudgmental feedback and guidance to help us on our journey. I am passionate about helping people get to the place they want to be in their lives-wherever that might be.

Specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults, I utilize a strength based approach and creative interventions to connect with each person, child, and/or family in a meaningful way. I have specific training in play therapy and incorporate those techniques as well as other empirically supported modalities into my treatment to produce positive change in a solution oriented style.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with children,I have extensive experience in treating individuals with anxiety, depression, and challenging behaviors. I am passionate about working closely with clients by providing them with a multi-faceted method of care including cognitive behavioral, humanistic, strengths –based and unconditional care. I believe that mental well-being is improved through creating a safe, judgment-free space to express concerns, develop coping skills, and explore thoughts and feelings that contribute to our moods. I'm here to provide that space and help you navigate this explorative journey.

I have worked with teenagers and adults addressing substance abuse and mental health issues for 15 years. I am able to work with teenagers regarding self esteem issues, peer pressure, mood disorders, and substance abuse. I often work with families and couples to work through conflict. I can also complete comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluations that may be required for court mandated clients. Overall, I facilitate individual, couples, and family therapy sessions to explore effective ways of achieving personal goals.

How do we make sense of our stuff? This is a critical question. Life can be challenging and sometimes we can’t understand what we are experiencing and why. Much of our ability to overcome adversity originates from our mindset- how we process our experiences. It is the lens through which we view our reality. Essentially, what contributes to our overall well-being is not necessarily the absence of setbacks but rather how we respond to these experiences. I work with my clients to help them shift their mindset and to find meaning in all of life’s experiences.

Having over 10 years of experience providing mental health counseling to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and behavior issues as well as mood and substance use disorders, my goal, as a therapist, is to assist in promoting long-lasting personal growth.

I bring a positive, goal oriented mindset to assisting clients of all ages. I like working with people who are struggling. I believe that we all go through hard times; we struggle with life events as well as things that are more internal such as depression or anxiety. I believe that each person has an innate potential to grow but that we often live life on autopilot continuing to do the same things that perpetuate our struggles and pain. Therapy is a chance to slow down and look at these struggles. It is a chance to intentionally explore them and how to deal with them.
