In my professional work I have learned to empathize deeply and to make observations and interpretations based on years of accumulated clinical knowledge and experience. While my professional training has been invaluable, my clients (and my colleagues, too) have been the most extraordinary teachers of life and healing. Through my work I have learned to be more open and compassionate and more fully human. This enables me to be a more effective facilitator in the healing process of psychotherapy. It is always a privilege to do emotional healing work with another human being--both of us are enriched.

So often, it can be difficult to open up to a stranger. For many of us, placing our struggles in the hands of others can be an emotionally and sometimes physically demanding task. A safe space is needed, one without judgment or bias; a place to feel cared for, listened to, and supported. This is the space Croy strives to create.

Our clinicians integrate EMDR, IFS-informed therapy, ACT, DBT, attachment-focused work, and other approaches tailored to your needs.
You look like you’re holding it together — school, work, relationships — but inside you feel anxious, reactive, or exhausted. Maybe you’re stuck in the same relationship patterns, carrying old wounds, navigating identity questions, or trying to support everyone else while ignoring yourself. You want relief from anxiety, clarity in your relationships, and a steadier sense of who you are. More than coping skills, you want real change that lasts.

On the outside, you look like you have it together.
You’re showing up. Getting things done. Handling your responsibilities.
But internally? You’re tired. Overwhelmed. Maybe even a little stuck.
And at some point, you’ve probably told yourself: “I’m fine. I just need to get it together.”
But if that were working… you wouldn’t be here.
A lot of the people I work with are high-functioning. They’re managing work, relationships, and daily life—but behind the scenes, they’re dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, or coping in ways they don’t feel great about.
Not falling apart—but not okay either.

If you’ve lived through long-term emotional pain or abuse, especially in childhood, it may have shaped the way you see yourself. Maybe you’ve been told you’re too sensitive, too much or that you shouldn't feel the way you do. You may carry a chronic sense of feeling misunderstood. This can show up as anxiety, depression, self-criticism, caretaking, over-functioning, avoiding, or isolated while still longing for connection. You may function well on the outside while feeling disconnected on the inside. These responses are not flaws, they are adaptive survival strategies that have actually helped you cope!

Why let your fears become your limits? Growth often begins when we unlearn what no longer serves us. Therapy is a starting point to understand those stuck patterns, challenge what’s holding you back, and make intentional changes toward a more meaningful life. My approach combines compassion with direct, thoughtful guidance. I tend to be collaborative and flexible in session and provide enough structure so you feel like you’re making real progress rather than feeling stuck in the same patterns week after week.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
