I also have extensive experience in working with adult women and men coping with relationship difficulties.
I have more than 20 years of experience in working with individuals from all walks of life. I have helped many people dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, low self-esteem, and stress. Taking the step to enter therapy can be scary, but is often a very powerful experience. I believe that problematic early relationships can often cause roadblocks to happiness and satisfaction in one's current relationships. I provide a very safe, sensitive, non-judgmental environment where I can offer practical solutions to the problems of life, and offer the hope of positive change and personal growth.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, with 20+ years of experience in the mental health field, I empower Millennial Women and Gen-Xers who are struggling with stress, anxiety, or feelings of unhappiness.
Are you feeling anxious and stressed? Are you the one that others see as "having it all together" but inside you’re falling apart? You're feeling like you no longer connect with the person that others see on the outside, because you’re so paralyzed on the inside. You're moving through life in survival mode, wearing a mask, feeling like a failure, and battling feelings of unworthiness or not being enough. You find yourself asking, “When is life REALLY going to begin for me?”

I have made a lasting impact in helping hundreds of men and women suffering from emotional eating, chronic dieting, and body-image issues make peace with food, body and themselves.
People engage in therapy because they are seeking relief from uncomfortable feelings that may have arisen from being overwhelmed with what life has handed them. Many are grappling with relationship challenges, feelings of being stuck, self-defeating behaviors, anxieties, phobias and issues of self-esteem. Others are experiencing physical symptoms which have been diagnosed as being rooted in psychological turmoil, also known as psychophysiologic disorders, or TMS.

I have a special interest in working w/ young women , LGBTQIA+, and people of all ages experiencing chronic illness, pain, and/or co-occurring physical disability(ies).
Psychotherapy should be individualized, supportive, adaptive, and promote increased feelings of wellbeing, a heightened sense of competence or mastery, enhanced coping skills, stress reduction, and improved interpersonal relationships. Everyone is different, and our first sessions will focus on an exploration of your unique needs, strengths, preferences and abilities. Psychotherapy can be brief and solution-focused, but is often a lengthier relationship in which we examine lifelong themes and patterns. Please note, I typically work with individuals who can make a regular, weekly commitment to attend therapy.

Couples in crisis,or quietly losing their way, have come to me for help in strengthening their relationships in a neutral, supportive atmosphere. I also have extensive experience with individuals (adult and children) and families. In crisis, short term or long term therapy, I am quite familiar with issues of depression, anxiety, work, or family stress. Many clients contact me regarding concerns about isolation, sexual identity, mood swings, and interpersonal relationships . Men, who often seek out therapy less readily than women , are well represented in my practice. People in the arts also occupy a large part of my work.

I also work with men and women as they navigate their way through feelings of anger, betrayal, sadness, fear, loss, grief, and uncertainty through divorce.
Your decision to dedicate time to focus on yourself is the beginning of growth and change. An important question is why now? I offer a space where you will feel a sense of safety, trust, and warmth that enables you to open up, share your story, and feel heard and supported, without fear of judgement. I will challenge you to explore outside your comfort zone and discover your potential to do new things, make different choices and respond in new ways. I hope to foster a curiosity about your inner emotional life, a connection to yourself, an exploration of your thoughts, and an openness to new possibilities.

Online therapy for women who are just trying to keep it all together. You've spent for as long as you can remember trying to balance it all, but it’s exhausting and you don’t think you can do it anymore. As far as anyone can tell, you’ve got a great life. You’re accomplished, driven, and dependable. But on the inside, you never feel good enough and the voice in your head is quick to remind you of all the ways you’re falling short. You're tired of giving so much to everyone else while you continue to come last on your list. Not anymore. It's time for a change.

I specialize in women 's mental health.
Everyday you get up, you get dressed, and you try to pretend like you are okay. You show up for your partner, your kids, and your job, but inside you are questioning everything you do. Constantly you compare yourself to others and you wish that you could just feel good enough. There are things you want to do, but you can’t seem to make a decision and move forward. So you stay stuck and feel like a failure that you can’t be the best version of yourself. Women are particularly good at pushing themselves to do more, be more, and give more. It is hard to take care of yourself and create space to unpack your thoughts and emotions.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
