As a licensed psychologist with over twenty years of clinical experience, I believe that it is never too late to make significant and meaningful changes in our lives. By engaging in a warm therapeutic relationship, I help my clients to better understand their life situations, develop their unique strengths, and move towards living a more emotionally fulfilling and satisfying life. I specialize in utilizing art therapy with individuals of all ages who are struggling with anxiety. When you are experiencing stress, overwhelm, grief, or times of change, it often affects every aspect of life. Art therapy is an engaging, collaborative form of therapy that combines traditional talk therapy approaches with the creative process. My adult clients often want to uncover new insights and explore themselves deeply to grow and heal, and my child and teenage clients are excited to use therapeutic art, writing, and play to process their experiences and learn new coping strategies.

I provide therapy through telehealth as opposed to a traditional office setting. I understand it may not be easy sharing intimate thoughts with a new person, albeit a professional. I prioritize the building of a solid therapeutic relationship so that we have a strong foundation to work from. After a thorough assessment some of the following treatment options may be recommended: individual psychotherapy, family therapy, marriage counseling, divorce counseling, or group therapy. Dialectic (DBT) and Cognitive (CBT) behavioral therapy techniques and practical interventions used in sessions will provide the client with tools and coping strategies to use between sessions. The therapeutic experience will assist clients with facilitating long term change, reducing anxiety and improving interpersonal relationships.

Hi, my name is Dr. Nadia Huq. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Previously, I worked as a psychologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Pediatric Psychiatry Department for 8 years. While I am primarily trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), my therapeutic approach integrates multiple modalities to address an individual’s treatment goals. I often collaborate with schools and additional treatment providers in order to provide comprehensive care for my clients.
