I have decided to focus my efforts on those disillusioned, displaced, and depressed individuals who struggle with three attributes that are necessary (if not imperative) to live a fulfilling life: Self-reliance, Self-sufficiency, and Self-governance. I believe that the facilitation of these realistic, accountable, and disciplined attributes will only create a much more valuable and enlightening existence for all of us. I also address the dangers of SELF-censorship which have increased tenfold in the united states. We see it at work, our academic institutions, and within close relationships. People are afraid to speak.

I work well with clients who are focusing on emerging adulthood, coming of age, and life transitions such as ending high school and college and beginning the workforce. Individuals struggling with anxiety around becoming an adult and gaining their independence will find healthy ways to cope with these changes, space to process the struggles they are facing, and will have the opportunity to work towards their goals that we discuss in sessions.

Like our fingerprints, there are no two people who will have the exact experiences, pain, struggles or stories. Everyone's pain will show up differently and everyone's story will have a tale that needs to be told. What is the same for most people is the need and want to find release from their pain, healing from their stories and a future to look forward to. When we work together, this is always our goal although our path to get there may look different from your friend, co-worker or family member. This is treatment designed for you and your unique story and needs.

Eating disorders are insidious and impact the entire family system. It can feel overwhelming, frustrating and confusing to know how to support a loved one with an eating disorder. My sessions help give caregivers (parents, partners or other supports) stability again. A person with an ED has a much better prognosis of sustained recovery when their family is educated, supported and involved. I offer resources and practical strategies to manage ED behaviors. Caregivers learn how to establish boundaries and communicate effectively. They learn they are part of the solution, not the problem. Treatment is not permanent, but family is.

The primitive brain can take over, when it does we can be harsh on ourselves and carry feelings like an anchor. When one area of our life is off, it impacts others areas like a leaky faucet too slow to notice and life begins to flood. We know to swim to survive but don't think float to save our energy. This struggle leads to exhaustion and a series of emotions that create new issues. Hurt people; hurt people. Becoming present & reflecting, leads to peace. If we could take a step back to see what needs solving? Things are not black and white, there is a lot of gray in between; things can co-exist.

I'm huge on being radically genuine with everyone. You can be homeless and on welfare or a multi millionaire, I'll speak to you in the same manner. It makes no difference to me. & thus far that's been a huge part of my success as well as a major building block for my practice. As a result word of mouth has been good to me. So when you meet me for a session don't expect a three-piece suit or a clipboard that I will be vigorously writing on.

I provide therapy that is goal-oriented, compassionate, and collaborative. Whether you're dealing with old hurts that never fully healed, or a current problem or relationship issue that you haven't been able to sort out, I can guide you in gaining insight and clarity to help you move in the right direction. While I use a variety of treatment methods and modalities, the foundation of successful therapy is the therapeutic bond created from trust, caring, and respect. I would love the opportunity to work together to identify your goals and build a treatment plan that works for you.

I work with older teenagers and adults experiencing conflict, which can contribute to anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. Many of my clients are in transitional life phases when miscommunications and disagreements are most likely to emerge—especially with loved ones. I offer practical skills for communicating through conflict so clients can fully express themselves, feel understood, and use the situation as an opportunity to build the relationship.
