You’re burnt out, and the pressure to keep it all together wears you down. Maybe you juggle family, school, or work while trying to stay composed. Inside, you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and stressed. You might seem "put together" but quietly struggle with imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and worry. Therapy can help you quiet your inner critic, reconnect with yourself, and reduce doomscrolling. Hi, I’m Chris. I offer a collaborative space to show up as you are, explore what feels heavy, and make room for growth, healing, and even a little humor.

So often, it can be difficult to open up to a stranger. For many of us, placing our struggles in the hands of others can be an emotionally and sometimes physically demanding task. A safe space is needed, one without judgment or bias; a place to feel cared for, listened to, and supported. This is the space Croy strives to create.

While I bring an eclectic approach to therapy, I tend to favor Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Psychoeducation.
I consider myself experienced in working with people with anxiety, depression, trauma, and members of kink and poly/LGBTQIA+ communities in both NJ and PA. I have eclectic experience as a therapist having worked with folks ages 12 and up on concerns including relationships, intimate partner violence, self-esteem, and anxiety. Though I enjoy working with most populations, my passion lies with helping survivors of emotional/narcissistic abuse and sexual trauma rediscover their identities and learn to trust themselves as their own greatest ally. I also hope to help survivors develop a more positive view of sex and sexuality.

Modalities used as a foundation for my work include Relational Therapy, IFS, and ACT.
Does it feel like you have been carrying a weight you can't seem to put down? Like you're not enough, and yet too much at the same time? Feeling constantly on edge, trying to anticipate what might go wrong? Or maybe there's a loneliness in being the one who's always "put together". I'm here to tell you- it's not your fault. You don't have to carry that weight anymore. Together, we can take the steps towards a new way of living that brings you both safety and freedom to be who you truly are.

Using EMDR and IFS, we work together to gently unpack protective patterns and build safety in how you connect with others and yourself.
The overthinking, the people-pleasing, the fear of being too much…it all has a story and you don’t have to carry it all alone. You’re insightful, self-aware, maybe even the go-to friend for advice but you still find yourself stuck in anxious loops, messy relationships, and old wounds that won’t stay quiet. Underneath it all is a deep desire to feel safe, seen, and securely loved. With compassion, a little laughter and zero judgment, I help individuals untangle these patterns, heal their inner world, and create love that doesn’t require losing themselves.

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in painful relationship patterns, recurring conflict, disconnection, or uncertainty about what comes next. My approach is warm, direct, and relational. We’ll look honestly at the patterns that aren’t working, understand how you learned them, and focus on what needs to change now. Therapy is not just about insight—it’s about accountability, healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and learning how to show up differently in your relationships and your life.

Often times, we find ourselves stuck in behavior we know is holding us back from being the best version of us. We show up in the world aware of our problems, but unsure how to take steps toward real change. Whether this be how we show up as parents, as partners, or as friends, sometimes it can be difficult to show up intentionally when old habits keep pulling us in familiar directions. There is power in understanding. When we learn to make sense of our emotions, our reactions and our needs, we create the possibility for meaningful growth and change.

A client you would typically find working with me will be more often than not struggling with anxiety, avoidance, self-esteem, life transitions, and the overwhelming pressure to "have it all figured out." My ideal clients are adolescents and young adults who just find themselves feeling stuck, or unsure of themselves, and families who want real support for their teens. While I find huge benefits in healthy coping skills, my ideal client is looking for someone to help them understand what's really going on, beneath the surface.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
