Postpartum anxiety/depression—adjusting to this new role can be harder than expected Mom guilt & the mental load—when the pressure to “do it all” feels impossible Feeling touched out & emotionally drained—especially when you’re giving to everyone but yourself Loving parenthood but missing pieces of your old life—because both can be true at the same time
Motherhood changes just about everything! As a fellow mom of two young children, I know firsthand how parenthood flips your world upside down—your identity, your relationships, even the way you think about yourself. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Maybe you love being a mom but miss the freedom of your old life. Maybe you’re feeling completely touched out, overwhelmed, or just mentally exhausted. Maybe the invisible load of motherhood feels heavier than you expected. Whatever stage of the journey you’re in, I’m here to help. Together, we can work through:

I’m intensively trained in DBT, Brainspotting 1 and 2, and perinatal mental health through PSI.
You constantly think about food and dieting and want the cycle to end. You emotionally eat or binge/purge to escape. You struggle getting dressed because you hate your body. You want to diet but every time you do, you lose the weight and regain. You’re tired of the rollercoaster.

In addition, I also specialize in working with addiction / alcoholism (including loved ones affected by addiction), dual diagnosis cases (co-occurring mental health & addiction issues), grief/loss, trauma, postpartum mental health, and major life transitions.
Have you been feeling like you just can't seem to be able to break free from your anxiety or depression? You're not alone; and you don’t have to figure it out alone, either! I specialize in working with adults and teens who are tired of pretending that they are “fine” while quietly battling anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. Therapy with me is real talk—no judgment, and no fluff! Just a safe space to unpack all of the hard stuff, understand where it’s coming from, and build with the tools to actually feel better, not just act like it!

No matter the situation, everyone deserves a chance and a helping hand. Whether the person just needs to take that one, final step, or is just coming to the realization that major changes are needed, I can provide the assistance, direction and support required to make mental health an achievable goal. My ideal client has concrete goals that he/she is looking to reach with the help of therapy and is willing to accept that therapy is an active process that requires work on the part of the client. Therapy is seen as a means to an end.

I am certified in postpartum mental health and I offer a variety of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR and Internal Family Systems.
Healing isn't about 'fixing' what is broken; it’s about reconnecting with the part of you that has been sidelined by past experiences. If you find yourself stuck in the same painful patterns or feeling constantly on edge, your body might be holding onto stories that words can't quite reach. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space to help you process deep-seated wounds and rediscover a sense of safety. Together, we will work at a pace that honors your story and supports your resilience.

Their goal is lasting change—greater confidence, healthier relationships, emotional balance, and the ability to move forward with clarity and resilience.

Taking the first step toward therapy isn’t easy. You may have been thinking about reaching out for a long time, wondering if your struggles are “serious enough,” or worrying that you’ll have to start over by telling your story to someone new. Those feelings are completely understandable. My hope is to provide a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted while also being challenged to move toward meaningful change. Therapy doesn’t require you to have everything figured out before you begin—it simply asks for a willingness to be curious about yourself and open to the possibility that life can feel different.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
