Carrying a lot inside? Maybe it’s emotional intensity, relationship challenges, job pressure, spiritual questions, or an uneasy sense of disconnection from yourself. Therapy is a supportive relationship centered on your needs and hopes, where it's safe to slow down and pay attention to what’s happening beneath the surface. It's like a clearing in the woods for listening to yourself and your life: stories held in your body, patterns shaped by family, pressures from the culture around you. Listening and being listened to this way helps you shape a path forward that honors who you are and who you want to become.

My specialty includes using Internal Family Systems ( IFS) informed therapy and the EMDR lens to help reprocess negative beliefs about yourself.
A time comes in everyone's life when we need to do some growth & healing work. Thankfully the ability to grow & heal is built into our human-nature, a nature that comes alive when we receive the support we need. Therapy is for receiving this support, and in a way that fits with you.
Throughout my life, along with my broad training and experience as a therapist, I've experienced my own, and have guided others in finding their ability to overcome what's happening 'right now', no matter what happened 'back then’, and no matter what concerns there are about the future.

If you've been searching for a therapist who actually gets it, you might be in the right place. This process can feel painful when everyone sounds the same, I get it. You might be in the right place if you look capable on the outside but feel anxious, emotionally drained, or on edge inside. You may overthink, people-please, struggle with boundaries, or carry guilt for wanting more for yourself. Maybe ADHD adds to the overwhelm, or family expectations still shape your choices. You want relief from anxiety, healthier relationships, clearer boundaries, and the confidence to trust yourself again.

I use Internal Family Systems combined with CBT and Narrative Therapy despite the name, this is not family therapy.
Do you ever feel pulled in different directions inside yourself? Maybe one part of you wants change, while another feels scared. Or you know you need rest, but feel guilty slowing down. These inner struggles can be exhausting, and you don’t have to face them alone. I work with teens, adults, and couples to gently explore these experiences and help you feel more calm, clear, and at peace within yourself and your relationships.

I have worked for more than a decade in the mental health field, where I have excelled at assisting individuals whom desire change and healing. My approach to therapy is person-centered and solution-focused, focused on offering a kind, compassionate, yet straightforward approach to growth, which encourages individuals to think deeper and build connections that will assist them with a better understanding of the underlying issues. I believe in an integrative approach to exploring and treating the root causes to mental health symptoms, honing in on the mind body connection and somatic awareness and resolution.

Therapy should be a space where we can be curious about your internal world and the impact of your identities, external systems, and relationships on it. Working with me would mean examining the connection between past and present, attachment patterns or wounds, coping and defense mechanisms, and how trauma manifests in your body. I encourage exploration of meaning and origins of behaviors, and often incorporate ‘parts work’ to help break down the ‘why’ and address the shame often attached to them. When appropriate, I also blend EMDR or other somatic practices into our work.

Drawing from Internal Family Systems ( IFS), Polyvagal Theory, somatic therapies, and attachment-focused approaches, I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit a single model.
I became a therapist because of my deep commitment to helping people heal from trauma, understand how early relationships shape their lives, and build more secure, meaningful connections with themselves and others. I believe that healing happens when we feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
