I am a modern and hip child/adolescent and adult psychotherapist looking to remove the stigma of therapy by making it accessible, solution based and engaging to young kids and teens. Therapy shouldn't be a punishment or a seen as a defeat. Yes of course, we will do hard work and it won't always be easy, but with years of experience and education, I am able to connect with my young clients and show them that together we can find a solution.

When you think about a better future for yourself, what do you envision? Are you feeling less stressed? Are you more confident? Is your relationship thriving? Are you getting more time to do the things you love? Therapy is a journey to find a path towards those goals. Therapy is an individualized process. Sometimes, we aren’t always aware of the thoughts, beliefs, and situations that prevent us from feeling better or getting our needs met. Other times, we are aware of these things but unsure on how to limit how much they impact us and how we can manage them.

No matter what struggles one's past might hold, I believe all people have the power to improve their lives once they gain insight and skills through therapy. While I have worked successfully with clients experiencing a variety of concerns, I specialize in helping people who are interested in overcoming symptoms related to trauma and anxiety. In addition to my advanced training and individual work with this population, I have also developed and facilitated therapeutic groups for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and women who have experienced trauma of any kind.

Creating the space for reflection is hard, especially in the midst of our busy lives. Many people feel stuck in difficult patterns, not knowing how to be happy. In a collaborative atmosphere, I can help you develop a healthy relationship with yourself and others. With sensitivity, compassion, and attention to your strengths, together we can identify your goals and help you meet these. Using emotion-focused work is particularly helpful because our feelings offer us a roadmap to our psyche. In other words, our emotions clue us in to what motivates, reinforces, or is aversive to us. Emotions drive our reactivity, thoughts, and mood.

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. — Helen Keller, U.S. author, educator, and disability rights advocate. I have always been a firm believer that everyone can benefit from talking to someone and it sometimes takes a lot to enter into the journey of self-awareness that comes with seeking counseling. Whether it be complex grief and trauma or day to day stressors, I look forward to being a part of your healing process.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, relationship challenges, burnout, grief, and major life transitions, with the understanding that many emotional struggles are often connected to deeper patterns, past experiences, and unmet needs. Treatment focuses not just on symptom reduction, but on uncovering and working through the underlying patterns sustaining them. I take an eclectic, evidence-based approach tailored to you. I specialize in ACT, EMDR-trained, and also incorporate ERP, DBT, and somatic therapy. Some sessions are more structured and solution-focused, building tools you can use right away.

I work with women stuck in patterns that hold them back from their true potential it's struggling with self-esteem, unfulfilling relationships, weight or financial security.
I see you. You’re anxious, overextended, and stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change—self-sabotage, self-criticism, and shame. You start things and don’t finish them. You make promises to yourself and break them. You understand why, but it’s still happening. That’s where I work. I help women eliminate the emotional and behavioral patterns they believed they were stuck with, even after years of therapy or personal work. Therapists and nurses, you may recognize this even more—you’re used to showing up for others, but your own patterns are harder to shift.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
