Is your relationship thriving?
I see therapy as a way to develop a deeper understanding of the patterns that hold you back, get in the way of your goals, and keep you feeling depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. I utilize a mix of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic approaches. However, I believe that creating a safe and collaborative relationship is the most important.

In a collaborative atmosphere, I can help you develop a healthy relationship with yourself and others.
If you embrace your emotions in a way that is restorative and healing rather than anxiety-proving or depleting, then you can live life meaningfully. Individual therapy fosters such growth. In treatment with couples and families, I help people move from battlefields and destructiveness to the development of intimate, safe, secure connections.

I see individuals and couples in my practice and the way I work is informed by evidence-based treatment approaches (AEDP and EFT) which explore how our earliest experiences in life connect with current experience/relationships.
My stance is supportive, committed and validating. I create space where you can reflect and talk about anything on your mind and I will be present with you to help process your emotions and cope with hardships. I believe in our inherent strengths and capacity for healing and change and I strive to provide an experience where you will learn and thrive.

I work with teens, adults and couples to manage trauma, grief and life stressors through use of CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing.
Life has become increasingly more difficult and demanding for us all. The therapeutic alliance is the single most important factor in a person’s ability to do the difficult work necessary to live a healthier and more enjoyable life. Providing a safe space for one to share and process life’s challenges has always been a paramount goal of mine. You need to be met where you're at with compassion, empathy and grace! I believe this is necessary for any one of us to grow and flourish and I believe that I am the one to help you do it!

I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, other mood disorders, trauma, grief, chronic illness, life transitions and related stress, and relationship issues.
Let’s talk! You deserve a helping hand to guide you on your self-exploration journey. It is common to experience a mix of emotions before beginning therapy. You may be feeling nervous about opening up, discussing past experiences, and are unsure of what to expect from the process. You may be hopeful that therapy will provide relief from personal struggles. You may also feel excited at the prospect of gaining new insights and coping strategies to navigate these difficulties. I want to help you take the first step towards a brighter tomorrow by investing in your well-being and cultivating a deeper understanding of yourself and others.

The most important part of therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist.
My practice is dedicated to anxiety disorders with emphasis on OCD and OCD Related disorders. As such, approximately 85-90% of the clients that I am currently treating have this diagnosis. I have treated a significant amount of individuals and families who have been afflicted with the aforementioned challenges. This includes in an office setting, out in the community, and in the homes of the client. I'm up-to-date on the latest treatments. I treat clients on the Autism Spectrum, in all capacities (anxiety related and otherwise.) I also provide clinical supervision to other therapists on how to effectively treat their own clients.

I am an ASCH Approved Certified Hypnotherapist, a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, a Certified Practitioner of Psychodrama, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
Life can be challenging and we all have our ups and downs. At times, it can be difficult to move past what is getting in our way of our happiness in order to be our true selves. There is nothing like having an objective outsider that can truly listen in a non-judgmental way, help you to reflect on the situation and factors that may be contributing, and together come up with strategies which can allow you to move forward in a more thoughtful and meaningful way. I am here to be that person for you.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
