I have been in private practice for 20+ years and deal with patients with a variety of issues. All patients seem to respond to me as a person who is easy to talk to. People often come to me after having poor experiences with other therapists or who have difficulty in opening up with other therapists.My patients feel safe with me and feel that they can trust me. They also always feel that I am a total professional with them.There is respect,compassion and understanding.
I specialize in many different areas. Many of my patients suffer from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, phobis and addictive disorders. Others are dealing with grief, abuse, interpersonal relationship issues or family and parenting issues. I also specialize, where necessary, in working with patients who require medication.
My training is a blend. My PhD is in physiological and experimental psychology (the biology of behavior) and my postdoctoral work is in clinical psychology. This allows me to use a psychodynamic approach (understanding personal behavior history), along with a behavioral approach, a cognitive approach and a medical model.
