I will meet you where you are at using non-judgment as we work toward emotional regulation and managing anxiety, depression , and mood swings.
My motto is that progress is a process when implementing growth. Through exploration of thoughts and feelings, we will build a collaborative avenue for change. I utilize a patient-centered, strengths-based perspective, and trauma-informed lens. Through relationally-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, we will create a safe space filled with empathy, warmth, and challenge. We will partner together to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how you will build the tools to navigate both positive and difficult situations.

I have spent my career helping individuals cope with issues that include, anxiety, depression , addiction and co-dependency. A good therapist helps you cope with your life by helping you recognize other options, along with offering support and reinforcing your strengths. Insight only represents a part of treatment. Convincing someone to try something new is the real challenge and that will only be accomplished in a safe, caring relationship. So, if you find yourself scared, frustrated, defeated or overwhelmed, allow me to accompany you on this journey. Together, we can figure out how to deal with all that troubles you-successfully.

I am a psychoanalyst by training, interested in resolving the causes of symptoms. Psychoanlysis is unique among therapies in that it not only seeks to alleviate psychic and emotional pain, but opens us to our own unique interiority so that we are able to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I have been a practicing therapist for thirty years, working psychodynamically and utilizing advanced training in psychoanalysis. My specialty is working with individuals suffering from Trauma, Depression and Anxiety. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey. I have offices in Fort Lee, Teaneck, and Lincoln Park.

I specialize in areas, including but not limited to, teenage conflict, ADHD, Depression , childhood trauma, anxiety, and infidelity.
As a Psychotherapist, I believe that everyone already has the tools they need to be their most productive and successful self. Sometimes people just need the support and encouragement from an outside source to reach their personal "happy place". Every patient has a right to Self-Determination and Self-Awareness. Psychotherapy can help develop insight, coping mechanisms, and social skills to help us build stronger relationships.

I work with people suffering from various mental health conditions: depression , anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, or grieving a loss. In my 25 years as a therapist, I have worked with patients from diverse cultural, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. In the recent years, my focus has been psychotherapy, support and psycho-education for people with acute or chronic medical conditions. The achievements of modern medicine do not replace attention to potentially devastating psychological effects of being sick, yet doctors often overlook or ignore them, leaving us to cope with fear, loneliness, and critical decisions to make.

My areas of expertise encompass all addictions, depression , and anxiety as well as the unique issues facing children and adolescents in what can often appear to be a frightening and uncaring society.
Have you ever felt like Alice tumbling down the dark rabbit hole of your life, only to land in the dizzyingly confusing and often frightening landscape of Wonderland? Can you identify with Alice, swallowing the wrong pill and shrinking to the size of a toadstool in a land of giants? Do you feel small and insignificant among the rest of the world? Are the White Rabbit's hole and the temptation to keep plunging further into darkness tempting you? DO YOU KNOW THERE IS A WAY OUT?

I am experienced at working on issues of depression , anxiety, grief, marital conflict resolution, adolescent conflict resolution, parenting, and chronic illness.
I am an experienced therapist with a keen sensitivity to my clients' needs, and a deep understanding of their issues. I work with a diverse clientele, and I help my clients manage a wide spectrum of situations that arise in their lives. People come when they are overwhelmed, stressed out, experiencing work issues, marriage troubles, school problems, etc. I work with them to teach them new skills, or to help them realize that they have the skills they need, but are not using them in the most advantageous way. This process of learning and change is the essence of psychotherapy.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
