My ideal client is someone who wants to learn to love their true, authentic self. I refer to this as “finding your fire”; I want to empower you to set boundaries in your relationships, to find your inner strength, to establish a strong sense of self-esteem, and to discover what it is in life that brings your heart joy. Working to uncover and connect with your true self can foster positive relationships and success in many areas of life. I feel that building confidence in your ability to cope is the core foundation to working on anxiety, depression, and various other concerns.

Using EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches, I help clients process what's happened and build a life that feels like their own.
I work with adolescents and adults who know something needs to change but aren't sure where to start. They may be carrying the weight of past trauma, navigating a major life transition, or struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, or a loss of self. Many have tried to push through alone — and are ready for something deeper. At Simply Healing, we meet clients exactly where they are. Through trauma-informed, evidence-based care — including EMDR and somatic approaches — we help people move from surviving to genuinely thriving. Healing is possible. We're here to help you find your way back to yourself.

I am an experienced multi-disciplinary trauma therapist, specializing in EMDR and holistic interventions such as tapping, essential oils, mindfulness, NeurOptimal (R) brain training, and HeartMath for heart rate variability.
Whether you have experienced a single upsetting event or something that was ongoing, chances are you are feeling confused, on edge, and stuck in the past. It may even be difficult to imagine a future for yourself. Relationships seem to be more difficult, trusting those you shouldn’t and not trusting those who you should; your judgment feels off and you don’t feel like yourself. You can’t focus and you can’t sleep. Your stomach hurts. At Vetiver Mind, we hold a practical lifestyle approach, providing support for the whole person - body, mind, and spirit - without drugs.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and insight-oriented therapy, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of my clients.
Life can feel overwhelming when the world expects you to keep up with a pace—or a set of expectations—that feels unsustainable. Whether you’re navigating the stress of parenthood, healing from difficult life experiences, managing anxiety, ADHD, burnout, or struggling to feel understood in relationships, you deserve space to slow down and care for yourself. Many of my clients appear “high-functioning” on the outside while privately feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and stretched thin. Together, we work to better understand your needs, reduce emotional overwhelm, and build a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
