It includes treating anxiety, depression, trauma, school-related problems, ADHD , depression, spectrum disorders, peer and relationship problems, and adjustment/life transitions.
Therapy can be a very rewarding and empowering experience, particularly when it is achieved in collaboration with a trusting, nonjudgmental, nurturing therapist. I enjoy being a therapist whom people feel comfortable with and can trust to help them. My work centers around helping children (ages 3+), adolescents, and families make positive changes in their lives. I work collaboratively with parents, as they are essential in the therapeutic process. Collaboration also often includes work with schools and other professionals.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD , trauma histories, and life adjustment challenges.
At our core, we all seek to feel acceptance, love, and competence. When these basic needs are not being met in our life we often begin to feel lost, stuck, or alone. My compassionate, relationally informed practice allows me to join with you to understand what life looks and feels like through your lens. Together we will examine early attachments and relationships to discover learned core beliefs and how they impact the way you see yourself and relate to the world around you.

I also conduct psychological and educational testing to assess for ADHD , and learning disorders and to provide information for diagnostic purposes.
I would like to introduce myself to you and familiarize you with my practice. I treat children, adolescents and their families who are feeling anxious, sad, frustrated and irritable. Bringing children to treatment at a young age provides them with a safe place to express their feelings. Early involvement in therapy allows children the opportunity to develop coping strategies at a young age that they can use throughout their lifetime. I have an expertise in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders for children, adolescents and their families.

It is inevitable that our lives are consumed with daily challenges and obstacles. For each of us, our ability to manage those challenges differs; or, we settle and adapt much to the detriment of our emotional wellbeing and feeling as though there is no end in sight. Therapy provides an opportunity to examine those challenges and reframe them into a new, positive perspective. When we are able to see our way through and discover solutions to those problems from a position of strength, it can take on a whole new meaning.

In my 17 years as a therapist, I have worked with a range of clients, such as co-dependency, anger, OCD, phobias, panic disorders, and PTSD & trauma with individuals, couples, and families, and I have learned every client is vastly different. One thing that is the same is that the goal for the client is always moving towards living kind of the life they want to live. What that looks like is different for everyone because we all have our own set of values. But the stronger our values, the harder it can be to accept ourselves and others in the world. I help clients find that balance for themselves!

People usually seek therapy during times of great stress, when their lives feel out of control, or when they are increasingly anxious or depressed, or when they feel stuck or dissatisfied, and are looking for change. My goal is to provide you a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere that will help you express yourself, explore and clarify your feelings, understand yourself and others, find options, and make changes in your life. I view psychotherapy as an active collaboration and seek to create a welcoming and comfortable base of strengthening support.

I see psychotherapy as a journey in which two individuals, therapist and patient, co-create the story of the patient's life. In doing so, together they connect disconnected parts of the self, acknowledge and resolve internal conflicts, work through old losses, and discover new options for leading a more purposeful and meaningful life.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.
