I love walking with women through challenging seasons of life, especially women navigating relationships and empowerment in midlife and those in their early 20s who are seeking meaning and trying to go deeper in self-awareness and insight. My clients come to me for things like relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, inner child work, setting boundaries, life transitions, emotional regulation, shame, and codependency. I also create a safe space for clients who wish to explore their healing journey through a faith-based lens. See my calendar and book appointments here: resolutioncounseling.clientsecure.me

Pornography addiction can significantly impact your life and relationships but there is hope for recovery. I’m not just a mental health professional, I’ve been “you” for many years. I understand firsthand the personal struggles in your life and committed relationships that come with uncontrollable pornography use. The endless stream of attractive women a few clicks away on Pornhub, Onlyfan or Social Media is hard to quit even with all your willpower and promise to quit for the sake of your relationship .

Others are dealing with grief, abuse, interpersonal relationship issues or family and parenting issues.
I have been in private practice for 20+ years and deal with patients with a variety of issues. All patients seem to respond to me as a person who is easy to talk to. People often come to me after having poor experiences with other therapists or who have difficulty in opening up with other therapists. My patients feel safe with me and feel that they can trust me. They also always feel that I am a total professional with them. There is respect, compassion and understanding.

Change is rarely easy. Whether you are changing jobs, changing relationship status, transitioning into parenthood, changing your identity, or facing some other big life transition, you do not have to do it alone. Often change comes with anxiety or even depression; sometimes we pursue change because of trauma or can be traumatized by the process; having someone to listen, witness, and support your growth may make the difference between surviving and thriving through the journey of change.

I have worked extensively with individuals, couples and families struggling with anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, substance abuse recovery and relationship issues.
I have always maintained the belief that individuals who seek clinical support are the healthy ones- they recognize that something is wrong and want to make a change. Becoming aware is the first step to moving forward. However, awareness without action can create, frustration, depression, anxiety and an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. It is my job to navigate your complicated and conflicted emotions/behaviors to bring you to a place where you can make healthy choices and decisions. My goal is to teach you strategies that will break the cycle to create a new way of being - to live in the present and plan for the future.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
