My practice is psychodynamic with adherence to CBT and trauma-focused models.
I check in throughout the session by watching body language, facial expressions, and pay attention to what is being said. Throughout the session, I will remind you this is your time, I want to get to know you. I ask you what would help to ease the tension of the first session.

I use an integrative approach grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques.
Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience, and it’s my job to help you find what works best for you. I’ll bring in tools and insights that are backed by research, but ultimately, this is about you—your growth, your voice, and your goals. I provide a warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth atmosphere to all my clients. I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs and am always open to suggestions/feedback. My goal is to empower you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to provide you with the tools and strategies to navigate life’s challenges, free of judgment.

My ideal client is someone who is navigating a period of uncertainty or challenge and is ready to explore solutions to move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. They might be a neurodiverse adult, such as someone on the autism spectrum or managing a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), or they could be someone living with a chronic illness that impacts their mental and emotional well-being. They might also be a caregiver, feeling the strain of balancing their responsibilities while maintaining their own emotional health.

You are trying to be everything to everyone, yet on the inside you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or empty. You might be struggling with intrusive thoughts, racing heartbeats, or an "on-edge" feeling that never goes away. If your life feels like it has become a series of tasks rather than moments of joy, you are in the right place.

My approach is evidence-based and holistic, grounded in psychodynamic theory, and integrating cognitive and somatic therapies with parts work and the wisdom of soul care.
I specialize in women’s spiritual, emotional and relational well-being. Many of my clients find me because something significant has shifted in their life and they realize they’re in unfamiliar territory. Some are experiencing grief or anxiety and feel persistently on edge. They’re tired of repeating old patterns and want to understand themselves and their relationships at a deeper level. They’re looking for more than skills, but someone who will help them learn to navigate life with more clarity and ease to achieve emotional well-being and a deeper sense of self.

I consider myself to be a generalist who uses a psychodynamic approach to treat the underlying issues of a variety of presenting problems. I am frank, non-judgmental and caring, and I will provide you with psychological analysis and tools to assist you in gaining insight, expressing your feelings appropriately, improving the level of intimacy in your relationships, and becoming the best version of yourself. To this end, in addition to individual therapy, I also offer group therapy to increase social self-esteem, improve assertiveness, enhance the capacity for intimacy, and gain insight into how you are experienced by others.

I help adult gay men transform their fear, pain, confusion, and self-destructive behaviors to more safety, connection, relaxation, love, and freedom. Their symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, difficult relationships, shame, and self-loathing get in the way of the life they want to live. These symptoms were attempts to survive overwhelming experiences of homophobia, but now they want to overcome these limitations and live a life with deeper connections, real freedom, and dignity. I am licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Life rarely falls apart in obvious ways. More often, it feels quietly overwhelming. I work with adults who are thoughtful and capable yet feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves or their relationships. Many are navigating transitions, relationship challenges, career pressures, perfectionism, grief, or the lasting impact of stress. With years of experience in higher levels of care and individual therapy settings, I’ve supported clients through both acute challenges and longer-term healing. Our work begins with creating a steady, supportive space where you can speak openly, at your pace, and feel understood.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
