Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists in Audubon, NJ

The interventions I use draw from parts work ( IFS), Emotion-Focused Couple and Family Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, and CBT.
Finding a therapist can be a daunting challenge, and it's courageous to even begin the process. Many of my clients have seen one or more therapists in the past, and struggled to feel understood and get the help they actually need. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place. I am trained and practiced in addressing the root causes of suffering in individuals and relational systems, which allows me to provide the highest quality of care to children, teens, adults, couples, and families; even those who have previously struggled to find therapy helpful.

I use experiential therapies such as IFS-informed parts work, EMDR, EFT, and Play Therapy, to help clients explore their inner world with curiosity, compassion, and greater clarity.
I believe every person deserves a safe, supported space to move through life’s most challenging moments, including trauma, grief, anxiety, and relationship stress. I’m passionate about working with couples, individuals, families, children, and teens to help strengthen safety within themselves and their relationships. I also value supporting neurodivergent clients in ways that honor their strengths and differences. I bring empathy and respect for each person’s story. My hope is to work alongside clients as they build self-understanding, strengthen emotional well-being, heal from painful experiences, and move toward meaningful growth.

I offer a unique blend of evidence-based trauma therapy and holistic healing for women seeking more than traditional "talk-therapy" and symptom relief. For women drawn to both science and soul, I integrate EMDR with nervous system work, sound frequency healing, and mind-body practices. Our work together is designed to help you understand the “why” behind your patterns, gently release old wounds, and let go of what no longer serves you. Together, we create new patterns rooted in healing, empowerment, and lasting change. A supportive space for growth oriented women.

I am IFS Level 1 trained by the IFS Institute and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in PA.
I help high-achieving creatives, perfectionists, and people-pleasers find more authenticity, balance, and calm. Productivity, high expectations and performance, showing up for others, and self-reliance may be socially acceptable but also contribute to overfunctioning, burnout, validation-seeking, imposter syndrome, harsh inner critic, compartmentalization, dissociation, self-abandonment, codependency, hypervigilance, and emotional over-regulation. Perhaps you can be rigid and controlling, judgmental and impatient, concerned with status and appearance, feel both too much and not enough, feel less than or other, and chronically lonely

So often, it can be difficult to open up to a stranger. For many of us, placing our struggles in the hands of others can be an emotionally and sometimes physically demanding task. A safe space is needed, one without judgment or bias; a place to feel cared for, listened to, and supported. This is the space Croy strives to create.

Your mind races, trapped in a cycle of overthinking. Saying 'no' feels impossible, burdened by guilt and obligation. Frustration builds, leaving you moody and irritable, longing for support. Masking true feelings becomes second nature, craving validation and acceptance. Doubt plagues every decision, fueling the belief that you'll never measure up. It's a constant battle, wondering if there's a way to break free from anxiety and self-doubt. But you can find the peace and clarity you deserve with support and guidance.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
